Job Summary:

The Position (Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Sample Department) is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring the smooth execution of all sample-related activities in the knit garments manufacturing process. The role involves close coordination with merchandising, pattern, technical, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate development and delivery of all types of samples as per buyer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample Management & Execution:

• Plan and manage the end-to-end sample development process, including proto, fit, size set, salesman samples (SMS), and pre-production (PP) samples.

• Ensure samples are developed as per buyer’s tech pack, specifications, and T&A schedule.

• Oversee and guide sample tailors, pattern masters, and related support staff in the sample room.

Team Supervision & Coordination:

• Supervise sample room operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.

• Assist the Sample Manager in team leadership and task allocation.

• Provide technical guidance to the sample team for accurate construction and fit.

Technical Analysis:

• Interpret buyer tech packs and measurement sheets accurately.

• Review sample comments and proactively take corrective actions for re-submissions.

• Liaise with the pattern department to ensure pattern accuracy and feasibility for bulk production.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

• Coordinate with merchandising, fabric sourcing, and production planning teams for raw material and trim availability for sample development.

• Communicate with the QA/QC team regarding technical issues, fitting comments, and garment construction.

Monitoring & Reporting:

• Maintain sample tracking systems and daily progress reports.

• Identify and address bottlenecks in the sampling process to ensure on-time delivery.
