Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, to join our dynamic Supply Chain Management team. The role is responsible for optimizing supply chain operations by maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and distributors, ensuring timely deliveries to enhance customer satisfaction, and safeguarding and strengthening the organization’s brand image. The position also emphasizes promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence, ensuring accuracy in documentation, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, analyzing supply chain performance through regular reporting, and strictly adhering to established safety standards.

 

Job Description:

 

01. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

 

The Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and onboarding high-quality suppliers to meet diverse organizational requirements, including heavy construction materials such as rods, cement, sand, stone, electrical items, and office furniture. The role requires building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and continuity of supply.

 

02. Technical Procurement & BOQ Analysis

 

As this role covers Civil works, Office Furniture, and ICT procurements, the Manager must be capable of reading and interpreting technical documents with accuracy. Responsibilities include reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) received from the Engineering team and Technical Specifications provided by the IT team to ensure that all procured materials precisely match project requirements, thereby preventing costly errors and incorrect deliveries.

 

03. Cost Optimization & Negotiation

 

Managing three distinct procurement categories requires strong awareness of market trends and bulk-purchasing opportunities. The role involves negotiating best-in-market pricing and favorable payment terms (Credit/LC) for high-value items such as office interiors, furniture, construction materials, and bulk ICT equipment. The Manager is also expected to implement Value Engineering principles to identify cost-effective alternatives for office furniture without compromising durability or quality.

 

04. Supply Chain Logistics & Site Coordination

 

Construction projects depend heavily on Just-in-Time delivery, where delays can result in idle labor and increased costs. The Manager is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to multiple project sites or the corporate office, managing transportation and unloading logistics, and ensuring that ICT equipment is handled carefully to prevent damage during transit.

 

05. Compliance, Documentation & Reporting

 

Supply Chain Management is a highly audit-sensitive function, requiring complete transparency and a strong documentation trail. The role includes managing the full procurement documentation process, including Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Comparative Statements (CS), and LC-related documents. The Manager must also prepare and submit monthly management reports highlighting cost savings achieved and procurement lead times.
