Experience:
Deep technical knowledge of screen printing processes, printing inks, color matching, and garment printing machinery;
Hands-on experience with strike-off development, buyer sample approvals, and production handover;
Familiarity with compliance standards related to printing chemicals and processes;
Strong coordination, planning, and communication skills;
Proficient in MS Office, and basic graphic tools (Illustrator or Photoshop knowledge is a plus);
Fluent in English & Bengali, both written and verbal;
Candidate should have at 02 years experiences on same position;
Job Summary:
This position (Assistant Manager – Printing (Development) is responsible for leading and supervising the development of innovative and high-quality print techniques and samples for knit garments. This role includes overseeing the end-to-end print development process, ensuring technical feasibility, maintaining buyer standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, and production. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of print processes, inks, techniques, and production challenges specific to the knitwear segment.
Key Responsibilities:
Print Development & Innovation:
Lead the development of print techniques such as pigment, plastisol, discharge, puff, high-density, foil, flock, glitter, and others suitable for knit fabrics.
Coordinate and supervise sample development, strike-offs, and pre-production sample approvals in alignment with buyer expectations.
Suggest improvements in design artwork to ensure technical feasibility and production efficiency.
Buyer Coordination & Sample Approval:
Communicate with buyers or their representatives for technical approvals, comments, and queries related to print development.
Ensure timely delivery of development samples, lab dips, and strike-offs.
Maintain a library of approved print techniques and buyer-specific requirements.
Process & Technical Supervision:
Guide the screen-making, color separation, and ink-mixing teams for accurate sample execution.
Ensure developed samples are scalable for bulk production and compatible with existing machines and processes.
Work closely with printing and production teams to minimize potential print defects in bulk.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure all developed prints meet buyer standards in terms of color fastness, durability, washability, and eco-compliance (e.g., OEKO-TEX, GOTS, ZDHC).
Support internal audits and buyer audits related to printing processes and chemical safety.
Team Coordination & Supervision:
Supervise and support the development team including print designers, sampling operators, and print technicians.
Provide technical training and development support to junior team members and operators.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain proper records of development samples, buyer comments, test reports, and approval status.
Submit regular reports on sample development status, challenges, and recommendations for improvements to senior management.
