Responsibilities & Context:
1. Plan, monitor, and control inventory of construction materials, tools, and equipment across project sites and central stores.
2. Ensure optimum stock levels to avoid shortages, excess inventory, or material obsolescence.
3. Forecast material requirements based on project schedules and consumption patterns.
4. Coordinate with project teams for timely material availability.
5. Supervise day-to-day operations of central and site stores.
6. Ensure proper receipt, storage, identification, handling, and issuance of materials.
7. Implement FIFO/LIFO practices where applicable.
8. Ensure proper stacking, preservation, and protection of materials to prevent damage or loss.
9. Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, delivery challans, and inspection reports.
10. Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and approval before issuance.
11. Ensure accurate and timely issue of materials as per approved indents.
12. Monitor material returns, transfers, and surplus handling between sites.
13. Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/software and physical registers.
14. Ensure timely updating of GRNs, issue slips, stock ledgers, and transfer notes.
15. Conduct periodic stock reconciliation between physical and system records.
16. Investigate and report discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
17. Coordinate with procurement for timely purchase and delivery of materials.
18. Share consumption data, lead times, and reorder levels with procurement teams.
19. Support vendor performance monitoring related to material supply.
20. Liaise with project teams to align inventory planning with construction progress.
21. Supervise storekeepers, inventory executives, and support staff.
22. Train staff on inventory procedures, ERP usage, and best practices.
23. Prepare and submit inventory MIS reports (stock status, consumption, aging, shortages).
24. Provide inventory-related data to management for decision-making.
25. Highlight risks related to material availability and project timelines.
