• Knowledge of Lean tools, IE KPIs, and production performance tracking;

• Strong communication and team management skills;

• Fluent in English & Bengali;

Job Summary:

This Position (Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering) is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing garment production processes with a strong focus on accurate SMV calculation, line balancing, and efficiency improvement. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SMV analysis, time-motion study, capacity planning, and implementation of lean tools to increase productivity and reduce waste.

Key Responsibilities:

SMV & Work Study:

• Conduct precise Time & Motion Studies and establish Standard Minute Values (SMV) using GSD, stopwatch, or other work-study methods;

• Analyze and validate SMVs across different product categories (Knit);

• Update and maintain SMV database for all styles.

Production Efficiency & Line Optimization:

• Develop efficient line layouts and manpower allocation plans based on SMV and production targets;

• Monitor daily line efficiency, WIP, and bottlenecks, and support production with immediate corrective actions;

• Support production teams to achieve target output with optimal resource utilization;

Capacity & Planning:

• Assist in capacity planning based on SMV, style complexity, and machine availability;

• Coordinate with production planning and merchandising teams to ensure accurate production schedules;

Lean Implementation & Process Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and 7 Wastes;

• Recommend improvements in operations to increase productivity and reduce cost per piece.

• Lead pilot runs and method improvement trials to finalize the best operational sequence.

Team Supervision & Training:

• Guide and mentor IE Executives and Junior Work Study Officers on SMV, efficiency monitoring, and lean practices.

• Conduct operator skill evaluations and suggest skill development plans.

• Collaborate with production and quality teams to maintain alignment on efficiency and quality goals.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly reports on efficiency, SMV analysis, manpower utilization, and KPI performance.
