Responsibilities & Context:

1. Procurement & Sourcing

Source key raw materials (e.g., corn, soybean meal, additives, vitamins).

Develop and manage supplier relationships (local & international).

Monitor commodity markets and hedge against price volatility.

Ensure supplier compliance with quality and safety standards.

2. Demand & Supply Planning

Forecast demand based on sales trends, seasonality, and livestock cycles.

Align production plans with raw material availability.

Maintain optimal inventory levels (avoid shortages or overstock).

3. Inventory Management

Manage silos, warehouses, and storage conditions (critical for feed quality).

Implement FIFO/FEFO practices to prevent spoilage.

Monitor stock accuracy and minimize wastage.

4. Production Coordination

Work closely with production teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing.

Ensure availability of formulations and materials for different feed types.

Support efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

5. Logistics & Distribution

Manage inbound logistics (ports, transport, customs if imported).

Oversee outbound distribution to dealers, farms, and retailers.

Optimize transport routes and reduce delivery lead times.

6. Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with feed safety regulations and standards.

Coordinate with QA/QC teams for raw material and finished feed testing.

Manage traceability systems for ingredients and batches.

7. Cost Management

Control procurement, warehousing, and logistics costs.

Analyze cost drivers and implement savings initiatives.

Prepare budgets and monitor supply chain KPIs.
