Experience:
Bachelor or Masters in any discipline from any reputed University.
4–6 years of relevant experience in FMCG, manufacturing, poultry, feed, agro-based businesses will be preferred.
Strong practical knowledge of L/C operations, import procedures, customs clearance, and foreign trade regulations.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of import documentation and international trade processes.
Strong negotiation, analytical, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Purpose:
To manage and coordinate end-to-end import and commercial activities, ensuring timely procurement support, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, cost efficiency and smooth execution of international trade transactions in line with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the end-to-end import process for raw materials, equipment, spare parts and other imported items in line with procurement requirements, company policies and applicable regulations.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, insurers, C&F agents and other service providers to ensure timely shipment, clearance, and delivery of imported goods.
Handle L/C-related activities, including opening, amendment, document scrutiny,
negotiation and retirement in coordination with banks and relevant internal stakeholders.
Coordinate customs clearance activities with C&F agents and ensure timely submission and verification of required documents to minimize clearance delays, demurrage, storage costs and penalties.
Negotiate freight and logistics rates with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders and
other service providers to ensure cost-effective and timely shipment arrangements.
Maintain effective communication with relevant regulatory and government authorities and ensure compliance with applicable import, customs, foreign exchange and international trade regulations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/airway bills, certificates, L/C documents and other regulatory documents.
Monitor import-related costs and landed costs, identify cost-saving opportunities through effective shipment planning and negotiation and prepare relevant commercial and cost reports for management review.
Provide commercial support for procurement, material planning, budgeting and sourcing
decisions by providing relevant import lead-time, cost, and market information.
Monitor import shipments and lead times from order placement through shipment, customs clearance and final delivery and proactively resolve or escalate any operational issues.
Develop and maintain SOPs, processes and internal controls for import and commercial
activities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce lead time and strengthen compliance.
Maintain proper records and reports of commercial and import transactions and coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and other relevant departments for timely reconciliation and closure of transactions.
