Sound and practical knowledge on Import and Export Procedure inside EPZ.
Proficiency in MS Office and email communication.
Export–Import Management.
Provide strategic oversight of all export and import documentation, including L/C, UD, EXP/IMP, Bill of Entry, Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, HAWB, Release Orders, and urgent shipments.
Ensure timely shipment scheduling, smooth customs clearance, and full regulatory compliance.
Guarantee accurate HS Code application and harmonized customs procedures.
Maintain strong coordination with C&F agents, BEPZA, Customs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, buyers, suppliers, and banks.
Drive timely realization of export proceeds and ensure proper closure of export files.
Bond & Customs Operations
Manage and renew bond licenses, utilization permissions, and maintain accurate bond registers.
Liaise with Customs and regulatory authorities to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Oversee preparation and submission of raw material release, wastage calculations, bond consumption, and utilization reports.
Ensure readiness for Customs/bond audits and lead resolution of audit queries.
Banking & L/C Operations
Supervise local and foreign L/C operations including opening, amendments, acceptance, negotiation, and settlement.
Coordinate with banks for fund management, reimbursements, and related activities.
Maintain accurate records of import payments, EDF, FDBC, LDBC, and other banking transactions.
Oversee preparation of bank reconciliation statements and commercial summaries.
Commercial Documentation & Compliance
Ensure systematic maintenance of all commercial files with robust tracking and filing systems.
Stay updated on Export-Import Policy Orders, Customs Acts, and Bond Rules.
Provide commercial support during buyer audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance visits.
Enforce strict adherence to government and non-government compliance requirements.
Coordination & Team Leadership
Build and maintain strong liaison with buyers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and bank representatives.
Collaborate closely with Planning, Stores, Production, Accounts, and Purchase departments for seamless operations.
Take proactive corrective action in case of shipment delays or document discrepancies.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the commercial team to achieve departmental objectives.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on exports, imports, shipment status, L/C updates, and fund flows.
Analyze export performance, financial exposure, and shipment targets; recommend process improvements.
