  • At least 5 years in the position of Assistant Chief Engineer / similar senior engineering role in an upper-upscale or five-star hotel.

  • Pre-opening experience in a five-star / upper-upscale hotel will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Experience with international hotel brands in the Dhaka market will be an added advantage.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire-fighting, BMS and energy management systems.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership, team management and mentoring ability.

  • Well-groomed, organized, detail-oriented with pleasing personality.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal).

  • Ability to work under pressure, available on call as per business demands and ready to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

  • Result-oriented with high sense of ownership and guest focus.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context
Q Hotel Dhaka – a concern of Quality Hospitality Limited – is an upcoming Five-Star Hotel with Multi-Purpose Office Complex featuring two independent 20-storied towers (built-up area more than 35,000 sqm) located at Purbachal New Town, adjacent to the 300 Feet Express Way. The hotel will feature 152 well-appointed guestrooms & suites (including 2 Presidential Suites), 4 international standard restaurants & lounge, multi-purpose banquet & conference facilities, outdoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, spa & wellness centre.

The hotel is currently in the pre-opening phase and is expected to commence full operation in Q4 2026. We are looking for a highly competent, hands-on and result-oriented professional for the position of Assistant Chief Engineer – MEP.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in the overall management, operation, maintenance and performance of all Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems of the hotel to ensure 100% operational reliability and guest comfort.

  • Plan, implement and monitor comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance programmes for HVAC (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV), electrical systems (HT/LT sub-station, generators, UPS, BMS), plumbing, fire-fighting, water treatment, sewage treatment, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, swimming pool systems and all building services.

  • Ensure maximum energy efficiency and utility cost control through continuous monitoring of consumption, implementation of energy conservation measures and optimisation of Building Management System (BMS).

  • Supervise day-to-day engineering operations, prepare duty rosters, assign work, monitor technician performance and ensure timely completion of work orders with highest quality standards.

  • Manage engineering projects, renovations, equipment installation/upgradation and contractor coordination during pre-opening and operational phases.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all statutory requirements, BNBC, fire safety regulations, environmental norms, manufacturer guidelines and brand standards.

  • Maintain accurate engineering logs, equipment history cards, inventory of critical spares, technical drawings and documentation.

  • Handle emergency breakdowns and ensure minimum downtime with effective troubleshooting and rapid response.

  • Conduct regular training and mentoring of engineering team members on technical skills, safety, energy conservation and standard operating procedures.

  • Work closely with all departments (Rooms, F&B, Housekeeping, Kitchen, Laundry, Spa, Security) to ensure engineering support meets operational and guest service requirements.

  • Prepare engineering budgets, control departmental expenses and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer / General Manager as per business needs.
