Additional Requirements:

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in hotels or restaurants.

• Previous experience in a luxury hotel, international hotel chain or large commercial property will be a strong advantage.

• Strong knowledge of hotel security, loss prevention, emergency response and crisis management.

• Knowledge of CCTV, access-control and other electronic security systems.

• Good understanding of fire and life-safety procedures.

• Experience coordinating with police, fire services and emergency authorities.

• Strong leadership, communication and investigative skills.

• Calm and professional approach when dealing with emergencies and difficult situations.

• Physically fit and able to work flexible hours and shifts.

• High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities & Context:

About the Role
Q HOTEL Dhaka is seeking an experienced, reliable and professional Head of Security to lead the hotel’s security and loss-prevention function. You will be responsible for protecting guests, employees, hotel assets and property while ensuring a safe and secure environment through effective security procedures, emergency preparedness, surveillance and incident management in a five-star hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive hotel security policies, procedures and SOPs.

• Lead and supervise the hotel’s Security team and ensure effective deployment across all areas of the property.

• Maintain 24-hour security coverage and ensure appropriate security presence throughout the hotel.

• Protect guests, employees, hotel property, equipment, cash and other assets from theft, loss, damage and unauthorized access.

• Monitor CCTV, access-control systems, fire and life-safety systems and other security equipment.

• Control access to guest areas, back-of-house areas, service entrances, staff entrances and restricted areas.

• Conduct regular security inspections and identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.

• Investigate security incidents, theft, accidents, disturbances, complaints and suspected misconduct.

• Prepare detailed incident reports and submit them to the General Manager / management as required.

• Maintain close coordination with local police, fire services, emergency services and other relevant authorities.

• Develop and maintain emergency response procedures for fire, medical emergencies, evacuation, bomb threats, natural disasters and other incidents.

• Conduct regular fire drills, emergency drills and security training for employees.

• Ensure proper key and access-card control throughout the hotel.

• Monitor and control vehicle and visitor access to the property.

• Establish procedures for handling lost and found items and ensure proper documentation.

• Support the hotel in maintaining effective cash, asset and loss-prevention controls.

• Monitor suspicious activities and take appropriate preventive action.

• Review security arrangements for VIPs, high-profile guests, major events, conferences and functions.

• Coordinate with Front Office regarding guest safety, suspicious persons and unusual incidents.

• Work closely with HR regarding employee security matters and workplace incidents.

• Conduct regular patrols and security checks of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, parking areas and external property.

• Ensure compliance with local laws, fire and life-safety regulations and hotel standards.

• Maintain security logs, occurrence books, incident records and other required documentation.

• Investigate and report any breach of security procedures immediately.

• Recommend improvements to security systems, equipment, staffing and procedures.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate preventive measures.

• Ensure all Security team members are properly trained, groomed and professionally presented.

• Promote a culture of safety, security, vigilance and professional guest service.
