Job Context:
∎ IRC Bangladesh seeks an experienced, dynamic individual for the role of advocacy and communication officer’s responsible for managing the communication needs for Western Union project in Cox’s Bazar. This will be through working closely with program and MEAL team to gathering facts on the ground, success stories, and photographs, and assisting with the production of press releases, supporting media coverage and liaising with partners to identify beneficiary impact stories. The Advocacy and Communication officer will also gather and channel information about the IRCs response activities at the field-level in the form of SITREPs, factsheets, infographics case studies and other regular reports for dissemination to staff, partners and donors.
∎ Contract Length: Till 31 July 2022 (with possibility of extension)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Communication materials are in place (25%)
∎ Develop content following the project’s goal and objectives in consultation with respective sectors internally and externally
∎ Conduct needs analysis of existing communication content and find out gaps considering child protection issues in emergency
∎ Design IEC materials following IRC’s branding and donor compliances
∎ Collect case studies, photos and video of deferent activities and prepare photo/video stories
∎ Proactively come up with innovative communication ideas which can add value to achieve the project’s goal and highlight project impact
∎ Built collaborative relationship with divers’ stakeholder form local to national level ( 25%)
∎ Strong collaboration with different department & head quarter colleuges -Communication and communication related sector/network/forums
∎ Represent IRC as leading agency for creating innovative communication materials at different level related the project
∎ Maintain professional relationship with mainstreaming media (Newspaper, TV, Radio) to promote project interventions and mitigate all potential risk form local to national level
∎ Provide daily updates on the project outcomes related to communication with communities, awareness, and emergency response for sharing with different platforms
∎ Support to project implementation team to develop periodical reports
∎ Capacity building of field staffs and volunteers on CwC interventions (10%)
∎ Number of orientations/trainings conducted on awareness raising message dissemination and photography
∎ Capacitate staffs and volunteers on to develop success story and case study
∎ Providing quality and on time support to all sectors by producing high quality communication materials including BCC and IEC (30%)
∎ Work closely with the program and MEAL teams to collect, capture, and document data and challenges to implement project activities and the needs of Rohingya refugees and host communities in the form of case studies and other content. Represent the information in an attractive and engaging format that can be shared with the public, media, project stakeholders, partners, and donors.
∎ Support Advocacy and Communication team to ensure organizational branding and donor visibility in different activities related to Western Union
∎ Work with project teams to produce SITREPs (dynamic frequency) and daily updates during the height of any emergency.
∎ Visit field sites regularly to document beneficiary needs, collect success stories and take photo and videos
∎ Ensure that all materials adhere to the branding and marking requirements

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years’ experience in communication, graphics design, advocacy for the development and humanitarian actors on protection and DRR fields

∎ Proven management and leadership ability Preferred
