Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Water Resources Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3 to 4 years of professional working experience in hydrological analysis, design drainage, tidal river management (TRM), polder systems, and river basin connectivity, NGOs or development organizations.
Additional Requirements
Strong commitment to Uttaran’s core values, principles, and zero tolerance policies.
Advanced command of hydrological modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, Delft3D) and MS Office applications.
Strong technical writing, reporting, and interpersonal communication skills in both English and Bengali.
Ability to work effectively in multi disciplinary teams and field environments across climate vulnerable coastal regions.
Employment Status: Contractual (3 Months).

• Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Water Resource Engineer for the Sustainable River Basin Management Project
Reports to: Head of Programme.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the in-house compilation, processing, and technical analysis of hydrological, hydrodynamic, and bathymetric survey data for the river basins.
Independently assist catchment wide drainage functionality, waterlogging severity, tidal exchange patterns, and structural performance of regulators, sluice gates, and embankments.
Spearhead the technical screening of proposed river restoration, polder management, and Community Based Tidal River Management (CBTRM) interventions against potential drainage implications and waterlogging transfer risks.
Manage in house hydrodynamic and hydrological modeling tasks to simulate and evaluate water flow velocities, sediment conveyance, and flood reduction impacts directly within the project team.
Oversee the technical design and construction supervision of link channels, peripheral embankments, and water control structures.
Other Responsibilities
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Programme or senior management in support of organizational objectives.
