Experience:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Master of Science (MSc) in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering focusing on River Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Morphology, or Hydroinformatics is highly preferred.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in river morphology, tidal river systems, sediment transport analysis, and coastal river engineering, within preferably southwestern Bangladesh.
Additional Requirements

Advanced proficiency in morphological modeling tools, GIS spatial software, and data analysis packages.
Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
High motivation, resilience, and readiness to frequent field missions in remote coastal areas.
Employment Status: Contractual (3 Months).

• Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Research Officer - River Morphology for the Sustainable River Basin Management Project
Reports to: Head of Programme.
Key Responsibilities
Direct the project’s internal morphological assessments, sediment transport dynamics, and bathymetric surveys within the tidal river basins.
Conduct independent technical reviews of river width changes, channel continuity, morphological shifts, and estuarine siltation processes.
Formulate in house sediment management strategies for Community Based Tidal River Management (CBTRM) operations, defining optimal sediment distribution and scour execution.
Validate technical assessments concerning riverbed aggradation, congestion drainage points, and flow obstruction across target catchments without external dependencies.
Oversee internal hydrodynamic and morphological simulation scenarios to “Future with Project” (FWIP) and “Future without Project” (FWOP) project conditions.
Conduct field inspections of active TRM beels, river loops, and dredge sites to monitor morphology and morphological changes and ensure and respond to engineering alignment with ecosystem based adaptation (EbA) principles.
Prepare high quality technical reports, manuals, and policy briefs on river morphology and sediment dynamics for donors, government counterparts (BWDB), and stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities
Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Programme or senior management in support of organizational objectives.
