Job Context:
Khulna Mukti Seba Sangstha (KMSS) is a Bangladeshi development organization that has been working in the public health sector for the last 23 years and currently implementing different projects in 5 districts of Dhaka and Khulna division. KMSS intends to hire a competent Upazila Coordinator (UC) for its ‘Climate Change Health Resilience’ Project to be implemented in Mongla Upazila of Bagerhat District as a downstream partner of Partners in Health and Development (PHD), in support of UNFPA, funded by FCDO. KMSS, with Management support from PHD will implement the project with a collaborative exercise with the Climate Change & Health Promotion Unit (CCHPU), Health Services Division, District Health, and Family Planning Department, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and UNFPA Bangladesh office.
Job Objective: To effective implementation of the planned project activities at sub-district and below level and provide day-to-day supervision, monitoring, and guidance to the other colleagues in achieving the project`s overall goal and objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the effective implementation of all Upazila-level interventions
- Conduct advocacy workshops with district and upazila-level stakeholders
- Mobilize local support of civil society, community leaders, religious leaders, and other elite for quality project implementation
- Facilitate strengthening support to Local Government, especially to Upazila and Union Disaster Management Committees under Bagerhat districts
- Strengthen management committees of CC and UH&FWCs to provide better community services in climate responsive way
- Capacity building of the district, Upazila, and Union level health service providers and health workers to provide climate-responsive health services under the selected 4 Upazilas of Bagerhat districts
- Provide support to implement union-level awareness-raising and community preparedness activities on climate change and health preparedness issues at the respective Unions
- Capacity building and Guidance to the Union team in conducting CRA and resilience planning with UP/ UDMC, CG, and UH&FWC Management Committee
- Establishing referral linkages and catalyzing community actions and monitoring systems
- Maintain liaison with the district and upazila level GoB officials and other stakeholders
- Supervise and Monitor the Union Facilitators (UFs) and Community Health volunteers as well as project activities and provide necessary feedback to perform their roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare and submission of periodical reports
- Any other assignment assigned by the KMSS Management
