∎ The Leadership to Ensure Adequate Nutrition (LEAN) project aims to improve maternal and child nutrition in the remote Chittagong Hill Tracts of Southeastern Bangladesh through a consortium of six partners led by United Purpose (UP). The project aims to break the perpetual cycle of under nutrition in 18 selected Upazilas under the Districts of Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachari in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The project funded by the European Commission (EC) will work to improve maternal and child nutrition for 282,000 pregnant and lactating women, children under 5 and adolescent girls by providing holistic, nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific livelihoods models to diversify diets and income for the most vulnerable whilst working with local, district and national government to promote nutrition-sensitive governance at all levels. The specific objective of the Project is "to create an enabling environment for improved and sustained pro-poor nutrition security service delivery and awareness will address the institutional determinants of under nutrition in the CHT which include the political and policy framework for nutrition, and the coordination and service delivery structures". The consortium of partners is led by United Purpose (UP) and consists of technical partners HELVETAS Swiss Interco operation (HELVETAS) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), as well as three implementing partners Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Integrated Development Foundation (IDF), and Jum Foundation (Jum).

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The duties and responsibilities of the Upazila Coordinator are as follows:
∎ About the Role:
∎ The Upazila Coordinator will coordinate Facilitators and public/private organizations for smooth implementing project activities
∎ Key Duties and Responsibilities:
∎ The Upazila Coordinator is the leader of the Upazila project team. She/he/they will be responsible for coordination, implementation, monitoring and supervision of all activities in two assigned Upazilas of Khagrachari District. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:
∎ OVERALL PURPOSE:
∎ Lead the Upazila project team to successfully implement the LEAN nutrition governance project.
∎ Overall coordination at Upazila level to ensure smooth delivery of project activities in accordance with donor requirements and guidelines.
∎ Maintain coordination and communication in terms of project operation.
∎ Support the Upazila project team and key personnel to monitor project progress, quality and share learning.
∎ Ensure that the project follows relevant compliance, statutory rules and regulations, standards and IDF Policies.
∎ Support relevant team members in advocacy efforts representing both the project and organization at Upazila level events, workshops and conferences.
∎ COORDINATION & IMPLEMENTATION:
∎ Coordinate and implement all project activities at Upazila level in line with project goals and objectives
∎ Coordinate activities by maintaining strong relationship with Government, relevant departments, local government institutions, communities and stakeholders
∎ Represent the project and organization at meetings, conferences and other events
∎ Organize and facilitate meeting, workshop, exposure visit, Cross learning events and community level events
∎ Coordinate with Project Manager and relevant partner's officials
∎ Assist partners to implement partner-wise implementation plans to ensure smooth delivery
∎ Promote multi-stakeholders platforms (MSP) at Upazila level
∎ Strengthen capacity and inter-departmental Coordination in nutrition sensitive programming and service delivery of relevant government line departments, Local Government Institutions (LGIs) and relevant service providers
∎ Dynamic community level Social Behavior Change Communications (SBCC) nutrition and WASH campaigns
∎ Provide support for school based awareness, school garden campaigns and innovation solutions from school children to integrate nutrition sensitive interventions; Support adolescent clubs with a focus on girls
∎ Support to establish multi-purpose information and service hubs in collaboration with relevant existing government services for CHT
∎ Support small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and local service providers to enhance access to and production of nutritious foods
∎ Disseminate innovative low-cost nutrition smart technology and practices
∎ Strengthen horizontal and vertical alliances through match making and establish and strengthen Public Private Partnerships (PPPs)
∎ Support MSME and service provider associations (SPAs) in nutrition sensitive approaches, traceability and peer control mechanisms
∎ Promote WASH and DNI markets
∎ MONITORING & SUPERVISION:
∎ Monitoring and supervise the project activities and smooth implementation as per Plan.
∎ Progress monitoring through regular field visits
∎ Supervise and check the quality of work/deliverables of the field Facilitators
∎ Support team members on ways to properly document, organize and capture progress of the project
∎ REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION:
∎ Compile Upazila reports and ensure timely submission to Project Manager
∎ Prepare monthly, quarterly and Annual progress report
∎ Documentation, knowledge management and dissemination of reports relating to training, workshops, surveys, dialogue, events.
∎ ADVOCACY:
∎ Assist partner's officials to develop and plan coordination processes as an advocacy tool between community, private sector and the government through the local service provision approach.
∎ Develop and maintain relationship with different thematic networks, NGOs, and media
∎ Coordinate and assist in arranging meetings/workshops/conferences and relevant events that are implemented at Upazila and community level
∎ Represent the project at advocacy and networking events
∎ Maintain a functional relationship with relevant nutrition sensitive institutions and stakeholders
∎ OTHER:
∎ Any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor that may be within the scope of the position to ensure the effective delivery and development of the project

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 4 years diversified experience on project coordinator focusing on nutrition, livelihoods, and health related projects.
∎ Age limit for the applicant would be 45 years.
∎ Good command both in English & Bangla
∎ Knowledge on program aspect, Supervision, Monitoring & Evaluation
∎ Computer skill both English & Bangla on MS-Office
∎ Knowledge on Coordination, leadership, community engagement and relationship building
∎ Knowledge and experience of working with Local Government Institutions
∎ Good networking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
∎ Experiences in working with partnership approach
∎ Good report-writing and presentation skills
∎ Good organizing and facilitation skills
∎ Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
∎ Ability to work independently and in a team
∎ Ability to travel and work in remote areas of CHT
∎ Supportive and committed to work for vulnerable groups, Values oriented and Gender sensitive
∎ Displays Sensitivity and adaptability on cultural diversity, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
∎ Good knowledge on diversity and sensitivity of CHT
∎ Able to drive Motor Cycle and have valid driving license or in process
∎ Working knowledge on any of the major CHT indigenous languages would be an added advantage.
