Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) is a non-governmental non-profitable development organization. A group of development practitioners, researchers and social workers established BARCIK in 1997. BARCIK has been working in the fields of environment, biodiversity conservation, climate change and food security with utmost commitment and purpose since its inception. BARCIK is looking for a well-qualified candidate for the post of Unit Accountant for its project titled `Strengthening the resilience of the poorest population of the impacts of climate change in Bangladesh to be implemented in Shyamnagar and Ashashuni upazila in Satkhira district. The project is supported by NETZ Bangladesh
∎ Job Nature: Full-time (up to project period based on performance)
∎ Job Location: Ashashuni Upazila

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Accountant are responsible for maintaining day to day accounts at unit level, Assist target group with procurement of productive goods;
∎ review civil society organizations (CSOs) cash books at village level;
∎ provide logistics support for trainings and in-service trainings;
∎ distribute materials to schools;
∎ file; assist with procurements;
∎ maintain cash book;
∎ other administrative work in coordination with Project Accountant.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years working experience in relevant area
∎ Proven skills in financial management, managing of donor/partners funds, VAT, Tax and relevant compliance.
∎ Required skills on budget preparation budget monitoring and review of project expenses.
∎ Good administrative and leadership skills, ability to work in a team and good interpersonal skill.
∎ Knowledge on procurement procedure, different payment procedures and maintain books of accounts.
∎ Computer skills on MS word, Excel, Power point and email communication.
∎ Candidate should have a good knowledge on safe grading (Child Protection, Gender & Anti sexual harassment).
∎ Only experienced candidates are requested to apply.
∎ Candidate having valid motor bike driving license will add an additional qualification.

Salary: Tk. 20000 (Monthly)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 1 festival bonus equivalent to 1 month gross salary
