Job Context:
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of Technical officer- for implementing `Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project` funded by UNHCR, located at Cox`sBazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare annual Training plan of EPRC project under the guidance of UNHCR;
∎ Support teachers at class room through supervision and class room observation;
∎ Responsible for proper implementing the Secondary, Primary, ECD/LC and crèche components within the project area by providing technical support, guidance and mentoring;
∎ Provide input in developing operational guidelines for Primary, ECD and school activities.
∎ Assist in validating the information through monitoring the Primary, ECD and crèche activities and implement the M&E system for measuring impact through various approaches.
∎ Track and follow-up issues related to teacher development;
∎ Acquire special attention to the issues of Refugee children.
∎ Direct supervise selected Head Teachers, assist in every day planning, implementation and guide them to assist assistant teacher;
∎ Assess children learning and regular follow-up and track the progress of attaining competencies;
∎ Lead the lesson plan development process along with class coordinators;
∎ Lead the monthly assessment question development along with class coordinator
∎ Support in conducting capacity assessment and in preparing capacity inventory of the relevant staff (teachers) for the Secondary, Primary, ECD and crèche component.
∎ Develop monthly training and refreshers plan considering the needs for the teachers
∎ Technical activities:
∎ Provide input in developing operational guidelines for Bangladeshi Teachers, Refugee Teachers and Head Teachers and School Supervisor/ Sr. School Supervisor
∎ Assist in developing different training courses and training materials for the respective fields;
∎ Organize and conduct training, workshops and refreshers for the field teams (Supervisor, teachers, and volunteers).
∎ Participate in EPRC core training programs for proper implementation and achieve expected results
∎ Support in conducting capacity assessment and in preparing capacity inventory of the relevant staff (Teachers and Supervisors) for the refugee children’s education component.
∎ Monitor and provide continuous support to the Field level training;
∎ Communication & Stakeholders Relations:
∎ Keep liaison with relevant NGOs, GoB officials and education-related organizations for effective project implementation and enhancing quality.
∎ Disseminate new information, lessons learnt, government’s new policies and programs etc. to the appropriate forums when needed.
∎ Make regular and frequent visits to LC/ECCD for quality checking and ensure support for learners and facilitators.
∎ performances of both children's learning's' and teachers capacity;
∎ Provide technical input to develop the teachers training short package ; ensure implementation of the Training Curriculum;
∎ Develop Training Calendar, Training Schedule with design of training course
∎ Conduct Teachers Training and Burmese Language Instructor's training on EL & ABL packages.
∎ Assessing Teachers Training through follow up;
∎ Conduct Monthly Refreshers Training at the field level;
∎ Ensure proper operation and overall management of the LC's under the assigned working area;
∎ Ensure necessary supplies available at each LC/ECCD
∎ Keep local level networks with the different stakeholders and education related organizations and agencies
∎ Attend regular meeting with Government officers (CIC) and site management meeting
∎ Provide daily progress information to PC/PM.
∎ Prepare the monthly and need base report in time
∎ Attend monthly staff meeting;
∎ Participate different events organize by the donor and the organization
∎ Keep good team works with other key contact personnel.
∎ Perform any other assignment given by the project management and the organization.
∎ Keep strong communication and liaison with Camp In-Charge (CIC) and site management for program and administrative purpose.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 30 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Relevant position with a specialization in adolescent and youth development programs
∎ Knowledge of implementation of education program and the situation in Bangladesh including constraints and issues in the primary education is required
∎ Strong ability in problem solving and decision-making;
∎ Planning skills;
∎ Excellent skills on dealing with beneficiaries, community and other stakeholders;
∎ Supportive supervision and motivation skill;
∎ Strong report writing skills both Bangla and English.
∎ Skilled in documentation, facilitation, presentation & reporting
Salary: Tk. 68000 (Monthly)
