Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Association for Social Advancement (BASA) a national level Non Government Organization (NGO) is started to implement a project titled "Economic Enhancement through Strengthening Beef and Goat Value Chain (BD2015)" at Mirzapur Upazila under Tangail District with the support of Heifer International Bangladesh. We are looking for suitable, qualified and competent candidates to fill up the position mentioned below:
∎ Job Location : Mirzapur Upazila under Tangail District
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide technical guidance to CF of "Economic Enhancement through Strengthening Beef and Goat Market System project for implementing agricultural particularly poultry and livestock practices to improve household production of the project participants
∎ Build capacity of the field team particularly with community facilitators (CFs), CAVs, and participants for better production skill and ensure implementation of those.
∎ Identify the technical issues of production and marketing of vegetable, poultry and livestock product and provide support to CF at field level
∎ Ensure practice of improved production technology for livestock and poultry i.e. housing, feeding and management practices.
∎ Develop enterprises of goat, dairy and cattle fattening at SHG level.
∎ Ensure technical support to the project participant's for reducing livestock mortality and strengthening CAVE services at community level.
∎ Helps to purchase the disease free and healthy animal to SHG members
∎ Popularize the fodder production, artificial insemination and cattle fattening at SHG and community level.
∎ Preserve update records on asset multiplication, mortality, number of enterprises.
∎ Assist to prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports timely and write success story
∎ Visit households and ensure household level animal production
∎ Support to organize animal health camp; ensure vaccination, de-worming and other technical services timely for improving livestock management;
∎ Assist Heifer program team in the field during field visit and share information freely, organize field visit of external visitor when necessary;
∎ Assist to prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports timely and write success story.
∎ Build strong relationship and maintain liaison with Upazila level stakeholders particularly UNO, Cooperative Office, Livestock Office, Women and Child Affairs Office, Agriculture Office, UP, local level elites and develop and manage partnership with private sectors and market actors
∎ Facilitate need base technical training and workshop with different stakeholders and producer's organization.
∎ Perform necessary instruction and additional responsibilities required from donor.
∎ Attend business hub or producer's organization meetings and discuss relevant technical issues and address problems overcoming strategies and guide overall implementation of activities;
∎ Ensure CAVE engagement with business hubs and assist to develop the market.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years working experience in NGOs/development sector
∎ Food security/ Poverty reduction/ Small Farmers and Ultra Poor projects.
∎ Good Computer skills (MS Office and internet).
∎ Can adapt to local conditions (Culture, language, geography).
∎ Willing to work and committed to communities and poor families.
∎ Creative and humble (Can achieve equal status in the minds of project participants).
∎ Good budgeting skills.
∎ Language: should have good command in both written and spoken Bengali and English
∎ Motor Cycle Driving: Able to drive motor Cycle at remote are/Char with valid driving license.
Salary:
∎ Tk.25000
