Job Context:
∎ LEDARS is NGO Affairs Bureau affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1998. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate vulnerable area of the country and people are suffering so much. In this context, LEDARS is implementing a project entitled `Strengthening Livelihood Security of Climate Change Vulnerable People` in Sundarbans region with financial support of German based donor agency. LEDARS is going to hire an Technical Officer (Agriculture) for smooth operation of Technical Officer (Agriculture) related activities under the project. It is the senior level position and will be key person to lead the agricultural related activities for supporting the community. Following are the major job requirements of this post.
∎ Job Location: Shyamnagar Upazila under Satkhira District
∎ Reporting to: Project Coordinator
∎ Duration: Long term ongoing project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Officer (Agriculture) is member of senior management team of the project,
∎ The Technical Officer (Agriculture) is key person of the project is responsible to provide technical support on resilient agriculture, livelihoods and small-scale livestock activities.
∎ He/she has to spend at least 60% time for field level technical supports for field staffs or other stakeholders;
∎ Provide technical assistance/supports to the field level staff and beneficiaries to identify and implement innovative agriculture practice,
∎ Monitor the daily field activities through field visits and provide necessary guidelines/technical assistance to the project staffs for further development of the program;
∎ Develop different technical training materials, handouts on resilient agriculture, livelihoods, small scale livestock rearing and other topics as necessary,
∎ Provide training for the capacity building of the field level staffs and beneficiaries
∎ Assist management team to preparing different need-based work plan (weekly/monthly/quarterly etc.), project report, case studies,
∎ Maintain liaison with different agencies/stakeholders/government departments at the upazila and district level;
∎ Any other responsibilities assigned by the /Executive Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years in senior level management in NGO.
∎ Demonstrated facilitation and training experience.
∎ S/he should have work experience in participatory program planning, management, monitoring, evaluation and PRA tools,
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English is given priority
∎ Interested to drive motor bike, travel in rural level with having valid motorcycle driving license,
∎ Familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Salary: Tk. 25830 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Yearly increment, festival bonus and provident funds.
