Experience:
Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Science, Geography, Development Studies, Social Science or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in managing climate change, environmental and sustainable development projects.
Proven experience in community-based adaptation, participatory planning, or LAPA development.
Experience working with international donors (e.g., UN agencies, EU, ICIMOD, GIZ, etc.)/National repeated NGOs.
Strong experience in field coordination and stakeholder engagement

Job Summary:
LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society), an NGO registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, has been working in the climate-vulnerable southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996. The region faces severe challenges due to the adverse impacts of climate change, affecting the lives and livelihoods of local communities. LEDARS has extensive experience in implementing climate change adaptation, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), and locally led development initiatives across coastal areas. As part of its continued mission to climate resilience and community development, LEDARS is going to appoint a proactive and experienced “Project Manager” who will play a central role in ensuring the effective, timely, and high-quality implementation of the project. The position requires strong leadership in coordinating participatory risk assessments, facilitating the development of Local Adaptation Plans (LAPAs), and overseeing the implementation of anticipatory and Nature-based adaptation actions. The role also involves ensuring alignment with national policies and UNEP frameworks while maintaining strong engagement with communities, local government institutions, and regional partners.
Job Description / Responsibilities
Project Management & Implementation
Lead overall planning, coordination, and execution of project activities.
Ensure timely delivery of outputs including risk assessments, LAPAs, and adaptation actions.
Oversee field-level implementation in, ensuring quality and consistency.
Team Coordination & Supervision
Supervise project staff and field teams, ensuring effective task allocation and performance.
Facilitate coordination among technical experts, operational staff, and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong communication with Donor, local government, and community stakeholders.
Organize and facilitate stakeholder consultations and coordination meetings.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Monitor project budget and ensure cost-effective implementation.
Ensure compliance with NACOM and donor financial and administrative procedures.
Monitoring, Reporting & Quality Assurance
Oversee project monitoring systems and track progress against targets.
Ensure timely preparation of technical and financial reports.
Maintain the quality of all project outputs and documentation.
Knowledge Management & Learning
Support documentation of lessons learned, case studies, and best practices.
Facilitate knowledge sharing through national and regional platforms.

Salary: Provisionary period 50,000 taka, after confirmation 55,000 taka (Including contributory provident fund)
