Experience:

• Good in field mobilization, facilitation, and training conduction.
• Have experience in participatory program planning, management, monitoring, evaluation, and PRA tools. 
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English. 
• Can drive motorbikes in rural areas with a valid motorcycle driving license. 
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, photography, and videography. 
• Candidates from Khulna division will get special priority. 

LEDARS is an NGO Affairs Bureau-affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate-vulnerable areas of the country and people are suffering so much. In this context, LEDARS is implementing different projects in the southwest coastal area with the financial support of donors. LEDARS was recently awarded the Prestigious Zayed Sustainability Prize. LEDARS is going to hire a Technical Officer (Agriculture) for the smooth operation of the projects and activities. Following are the major job requirements of this post. 

Job Location : Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira District.

Duration : Long-term ongoing project.

• The Technical Officer (Agriculture) is a member of the senior management team of LEDARS. S/he is the key person of the organization who is responsible for providing technical support on resilient agriculture, livelihoods, and small-scale livestock activities. 

• Responsible for providing real-time solutions to the smallholder farmers facing the negative impact of Climate Change. 

• S/he is responsible for the development of the agriculture-related business of beneficiaries. 

• Provide technical support to produce seed and organic fertilizer for beneficiaries. 

• S/he has to spend at least 60% of the time on field-level intervention to provide technical support for field staff, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.

• Provide technical assistance/support to the field-level staff and beneficiaries to identify and implement innovative agriculture technologies. 

• Monitor the daily field activities and provide necessary guidelines/technical assistance to the project staff, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to establish resilient agriculture and agri-business. 

• Develop different technical training materials, and handouts on resilient agriculture, livelihoods, small-scale livestock, agri-business, and other topics as necessary.  

• Operationalize and maintain LEDARS’ Agro Laboratory.

• Supervise and run the Climate and Adaptation Technology Park in LEDARS’ campus.

• Facilitate trainings on climate adaptive resilient agriculture, adaptation technologies of agriculture, seed production and preservation, organic fertilizer and pesticides, etc.

• Assist the management team in preparing different need-based work plans (weekly/monthly/quarterly etc.), project reports, success stories, etc.  

• Maintain liaison with different agencies/stakeholders/government departments at the upazila and district level. 

Salary : 40,203 (monthly, after successful completion of the probationary period) Other benefits : Yearly increment, festival bonus, and provident fund.
