Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements:
∎ 2 to 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Communicate effectively with the team toidentify requirements such as machine set up,re-setting, repair etc and allocate best resources to carry out the job to minimise downtime.
∎ Attend meetings/discussions in order to obtain confirmation regarding availability of all requirements such as attachments, spares etc. to meet various sewing operations pertaining to styles planned for sample production.
∎ Ensure that all issues pertaining to machine layout etc are effectively resolved and process streamlined in order to improve workflow
∎ Prepare a machine service schedule and ensure that all machines are serviced every six months and a comprehensive service carried out once each year
∎ Maintain corresponding log books/records of all repairs carried out including start/end time of repair
∎ Obtain a report (machine breakdown report) on a monthly basis, analyse nature and frequency of breakdowns and proceed with required follow up corrective action so as to eliminate the requirement for repeated repair
∎ Oversee the fabrication of attachments required by the different operations after obtaining details from the meetings and communicate feasibility of attachment fabrication to the superior
∎ Attend to critical machine set up, re-setting repair etc as and when required
∎ Conduct in house training for mechanics after accurate identification of training requirements in order to enhance their skills
∎ Ensure maintenance of adequate inventory of tools and equipment required by the mechanics
∎ Ensure strict adherence to health and safety measures when handling tools and equipment
∎ Ensure production feasibility at bulk production
∎ Accountable for maintaining a spare part cost, machine rent cost and method improvement cost
