Year of Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in information management, database management, mapping, material & communication messages development, and dashboard development.

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • Candidates with previous working experience in GBV projects will be strongly preferred.     
  • Having sound knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites/Photoshop/Illustrator, supporting designing dashboards with Power / Tableau.      
  • Familiarity with principles of monitoring and evaluation. Experience in writing brief narrative reports.

Responsibilities & Context:

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of Sr. Officer-IM for implementing 'Education and Protection for Refugee Community (EPRC) Project' funded by UNHCR, located at Ukhiya & Teknaf Cox’s Bazar)

Position Title: Sr. Officer-IM

C. Key Areas of Performance/ Responsibility/ Accountability:

  • a.   Design and develop different data management trackers for effective project data management in collaboration with Case Management Coordinator and Prevention Coordinators (CP & GBV), CBP Coordinator, Manager - MEAL, and Officer – (IM & MD).

    b. Lead quality assurance of data management both quantitative and qualitative, and ensure timely, accurate, and complete data submission in the different data management trackers of EPRC Project.

    c. Conduct field visits to monitor data and information management activities, gap identification, and validate reported data.

    d. Maintain data collection tools, dashboards, templates, and database for tracking program performance.

    e. Manage data collection using MS Excel tools / Kobo/ MS Form, data analysis, and dissemination to ensure inter-operability of operational data and systems.

    f. Track project progress, prepare regular and adhoc reports, and present outcomes to management and stakeholders, and ensure timely submission of Activity Info.

    g. Ensure data quality, consistency and effective implementation of information management using MySqL and /MS SQL server / MS ACCESS, accurate documentation of project activities.

    h.  Identify new information and data requirements to support multidisciplinary data management and storage.

    i. Draft IM-related standard operating procedures, data systems and information management products.

    j. Identify risks, and safeguard data security, data protection, and responsible data-sharing practices.

    k. Undertake initiatives to regularly disseminate key information among team members by developing data dashboards or appropriate templates using PowerBi/Tableau, MS SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps.

    l. Develop facility and service monitoring maps, update the status while required and provide technical support to the team members for maintaining updated field facility status.

    m.   Coordinate with Manager – MEAL and Officer – IM & MD on data and information management efforts and mechanisms.

    n. Coordinate with Coordinators for data verification and evaluation of the program, and assist Project Coordinator for different report writing.

    o.     Support the analysis of primary and secondary data for interpretation and evidence-informed decision making.

    p. Arrange group discussion to identify challenges for data quality, data collection and data posting.

    q. Support and undertake geospatial analysis and mapping using ArcGIS, QGIS, ArcGIS online, statistical analysis, surveys, and other data management activities.

    r. Understanding and abide by the relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to information management, such as data protection laws and DONOR specific regulations on data sharing, data processing or other form of affairs related to data.

    s. Archive all the required project-related documents.

    t. Develop monthly, half-yearly and yearly work plan, and share to the Line Manager, and incorporate supervisor feedback as requested.

    Documentation and ICT Support:

    a. To assist CM Supervisor and Case Management Officer for monthly documentation of child profile.

    b. Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

    c. Develop and implement databases, data collection system, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

    d. Acquire data from primary or secondary data source and maintain database/data system.

    e. Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

    f. Provide technical support for Case Manager, Centre Manager and Officers to ensure the optimize use of provided device (Laptop / Tab)

    g.  Provide training to CP staff for CPIMS+ operation. Provide individual and camp-based feedback to the respective personnel on it.

    h.     Performing main role to ensure data posting on CPIMS+, Kobo database, Activity info & Progress v4.

    i.  Overseeing the whole management information system of Case Management for the project’s needs.

    j.  To assist Cp- Supervisor for monthly child profile.

    k. Assist in developing different IEC materials for MPC and CC.

    l.   Keep tracking on monthly project performance tracking.

    m.   Extensive field visit on ongoing activates close monitoring, minimum 3 days in a week and provide hands on support to the staffs. 

    n. Submit weekly progress report/field visit report to the project coordinator.

    C:2: Technical activities:

    The Sr. Officer – IM will work for implementing of effective documentation and Information Management System of project interventions through better interpretation of collected field data and analysis in the line with project strategy. Sr. Officer – IM will coordinate with Coordinators (CP, GBV, & CBP) by providing different camp-based analysis as per need. 

Safeguarding & PSEA:

  • S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)'s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.

  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation.

  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
