∎ Relief International (RI) has been working in Bangladesh since 2004, implementing programs covering emergency response, health, economic opportunity, trafficking in persons, gender equality and youth empowerment. RI has been present in Cox’s Bazar since 2014 where it was implementing a trafficking in person’s project in Ukhiya and Teknaf supporting old caseload refugees as well as host communities prior to the large-scale influx. Since 2017, RI has scaled up its operations in Cox’s Bazar to support the emergency response by providing integrated, multi-sectoral programming for refugee and host communities, covering health services, child protection, SGBV. Relief International is currently implementing a large scale refugee response program in Cox`s Bazar in Bangladesh in collaboration with multiple partners including UNHCR.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide Diagnostic Ultrasound Services by being responsible for maintaining the equipment to ensure its operation at peak efficiency.
∎ Run Quality control tests and make any necessary adjustment, recommend for purchasing additional equipment or upgradation as required.
∎ Oversee scheduling the use of imaging equipment.
∎ Use special equipment to direct safe, high frequency sound waves towards a particular part of the body.
∎ Select particulars images and records them for physician to use when making a diagnosis or monitoring pregnancies on medical conditions.
∎ Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
∎ Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
∎ Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
∎ Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician
∎ Ensure safety, mental and physical comfort of the patients while they are in the sonologist’s care.
∎ Obtain and record patient history.
∎ Address problems and inquiries from patient and recommend further testing if required.
∎ Work with public health providers in the prevention and control of communicable diseases for individuals and families.
∎ Comply with established health and safety policies with regard to handling of instruments, storage of drugs and disposal of sharps and other potentially dangerous equipment and substances. Comply with current NZ legislation.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 24 years
∎ Minimum 2 years of experience in Ultrasound (Previous experience of the development project/emergency sector/refugee context with NGO/INGO will get preference)
∎ Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill
∎ Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively in written and spoken English
∎ Flexibility, Optimistic and friendly
