Responsibilities & Context:

Key Responsibilities – Software Quality Assurance (SQA)

• Test all completed development tasks marked as Resolved before management approval

• Independently verify that fixes and features are implemented correctly, not just “working”

• Test changes across Live Server, Dev Server, and Both, as applicable

• Validate backend, API, and system-level fixes that are too technical for non-developers to assess

• Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not break existing functionality

• Review and test API integrations (e.g. hotel suppliers, search, pricing, availability, filters)

• Verify security-related changes (API keys, permissions, access rules)

• Test performance-related fixes (speed, loading times, search responses)

• Validate database-related changes, indexing, backups, and data integrity

• Test cron jobs, queues, background workers, and scheduled tasks

• Verify bug fixes reported by users, management, or internal teams

• Reproduce reported issues and confirm resolution before closure

• Maintain clear test evidence (screenshots, recordings, logs)

• Update task status with QA results and clear pass/fail notes

• Flag incomplete, incorrect, or risky implementations before they reach production

• Work closely with developers to clarify expected behaviour and edge cases

UI / UX & Front-End Improvements

• Review front-end UI for usability, consistency, and clarity

• Identify UI/UX improvements across:

  • Search flows

  • Hotel listings

  • Room cards

  • Filters

  • Checkout and booking flows

• Test mobile, tablet, and desktop responsiveness

• Identify layout, spacing, alignment, and visual consistency issues

• Propose front-end enhancements to improve user experience and conversion

• Validate cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, mobile browsers)

Quality Process & Reporting

• Maintain structured QA checklists per feature type (API, UI, performance, security)

• Provide clear QA summaries to management:

  • What was tested

  • What passed

  • What failed

  • What needs rework

• Help reduce the backlog of “resolved but not tested” tasks

• Ensure only properly tested work is approved for production release

• Support continuous improvement of QA processes across all Verv brands

Tools & Collaboration

• Work daily within project management tools (e.g. Monday.com / Kanban boards)

• Collaborate with developers, product leads, and management

• Log bugs clearly with steps to reproduce and expected behaviour

• Use browser dev tools, logs, and basic API testing tools where required
