Experience:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
1–3 years of professional software development experience, including hands-on work with Python on web applications.
Working experience with Django (including Django REST Framework) or FastAPI, REST APIs, SQL and a relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Practical experience with Git, writing automated tests and working in Linux-based environments.
Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and core web concepts such as HTTP, JSON and authentication.
Skills and Competencies
Clear, logical approach to problem-solving and debugging.
Willingness to learn, accept feedback and follow team coding standards.
Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
Good written and spoken communication skills in English.
Experience with Docker, cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure or GCP), background task queues (e.g. Celery with Redis) or front-end integration (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) will be an advantage.
Working knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript and NestJS will be an added advantage.

Position Overview
The Software Developer (Python) will work under the guidance of the Senior Software Developer to build, test and maintain web applications and APIs. This is a hands-on role covering feature development, bug fixing, testing and documentation. The developer will turn agreed requirements into working code, take part in code reviews and grow their technical skills within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development
Develop and maintain Python-based web applications, APIs and background tasks using Django, Django REST Framework (DRF) or FastAPI, following agreed technical designs.
Implement features and fixes from assigned tasks, providing realistic estimates and regular progress updates.
Write efficient SQL queries and ORM code, and prepare database migrations under the guidance of the Senior Software Developer.
Integrate applications with approved third-party services and REST APIs, and document the interfaces used (e.g. OpenAPI/Swagger).
Quality, Security and Deployment
Write unit and integration tests (e.g. with pytest) and fix defects found in testing or reported by users.
Follow secure coding practices in line with OWASP guidelines, including input validation, access control and safe handling of sensitive data and secrets.
Use Git and the team’s pull-request workflow; submit code for review and act on feedback promptly.
Assist with releases through CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions or GitLab CI) and containers (Docker), and help investigate production issues.
Keep technical documentation, setup instructions and change notes up to date.
Collaboration and Learning
Work closely with the Senior Software Developer, designers and business colleagues to understand requirements and deliver features on time.
Take part in code reviews, sprint planning and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Raise risks, blockers and questions early, and suggest practical improvements to code and processes.
Keep up to date with Python and web development best practice.
