Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Nazarene Mission (BNM) is a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization, which is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. BNM is inviting applications from qualified candidates for “Improving health and living condition of tea garden labour and marginalize people in Sreemongal (IHLTMP)” Project Supported by BMZ and German Doctors, Germany which is being implemented in Sreemongal, Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. The objective of this project is –To contribute to improving the health, quality of life and socio-economic situation of vulnerable tea plantation workers and people from marginalised communities in the 4 Unions of Ashidron, Rajghat, Kalighat and Srimangal in Srimangal sub-district, Bangladesh. This contributes to the achievement of the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) of UN "to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages".
∎ Under this project, the direct target group comprises 100,000 people, including a total of 67,500 women and children from 40 target villages in Ashidron, Rajghat, Kalighat and Srimangal Sadar Unions. From the population of the 40 target villages, 600 women will be organised into 40 self-help groups and 9,000 people will benefit from the provision of WASH infrastructures. A total of 176 community youth/young adults from the direct target group receive additional training as Community Health Volunteers. They act as mediators by ensuring basic medical care for the targeted group at the community level. The requirements for the positions are given below:
Job Responsibilities:
∎ a. S/he will organize field-based project day to day activities according to the guideline of the project proposal and supervisor.
∎ b. S/he will facilitate local community Health and Community Development project activities.
∎ c. S/he will work very closely with the community ensuring the level of understands of community people about the project aspects and involve them in all aspects of the project.
∎ d. S/he oversee Projects SHG’s activities and the weekly meetings of all SHG’s and collection of savings / issuing of loans, and ensure proper record-keeping.
∎ e. S/he will coordinate local leaders and Volunteers and other stakeholders including Govt and NGO’s
∎ f. S/he will prepare Activity report and assist supervisor to prepare quarterly and annual report
∎ g. Perform other tasks assigned from time to time by the Project Manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ b. Diverse knowledge on Health and Community Development projects
∎ c. Good command both in English & Bangla
∎ d. Requires knowledge of using personal computers including Microsoft Office Application (mandatory).
∎ e. Good communication and negotiation skill to develop lingkage with Local level stakholders
∎ f. Good staff management and supervision skill
Salary: Tk. 26000 (Monthly)
