Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Responsible to : Project Coordinator and Senior Finance officer
∎ Assigned Projects: Climate Resilient Sustainable Livelihood Project
∎ Job Location: Mongla Bagerhat
∎ Start Date: As soon as possible
∎ Establish and ensure standard financial management and accounting processes within the project team, ensuring compliance with BNM financial policies and procedures.
∎ Perform financial transactions for the project following organizational finance policies.
∎ Collect bills, vouchers, and other financial documents relevant to project accounts.
∎ Input financial data into accounting software (Tally 9) as per Head Office instructions.
∎ Ensure Tax/VAT calculation, deduction as per NBR rules, and timely deposits to the Treasury.
∎ Maintain project accounts in consultation with the Project Coordinator.
∎ Keep records of financial transactions (vouchers, cash book, ledger, procurement documents, salary payment records, bank statements).
∎ Prepare and submit financial reports promptly.
∎ Maintain project bank accounts, verify account statuses, and reconcile bank statements.
∎ Monitor project expenses, ensure adherence to approved budgets, and handle financial settlements.
∎ Assist in Human Resources and Personnel management tasks.
∎ Prepare monthly money requisitions and work plans for fund release.
∎ Record all cash, check, and bank transfer transactions daily.
∎ Provide required monthly financial reports to supervisors.
∎ Review and ensure accuracy of financial transactions within the project.
∎ Reconcile cash on hand and manage cash advances and expense reports.
∎ Support the Project Coordinator in financial policies and practices.
∎ Ensure contracts are current for rental properties, facilities, and vehicles.
∎ Submit month-end reports to the Dhaka Service Office promptly.
∎ Maintain various registers and update regularly (e.g., salary, cash, stationary, grocery).
∎ Input and update finance tasks using Tally software daily.
∎ Collaborate with Senior Finance Officer, Operations, and Internal Auditor on risk assessment and emergency planning.
∎ Maintain risk management systems (risk register, etc.).
∎ Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
∎ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or authority
∎ Bangladesh Nazarene Mission is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the Climate Resilient Sustainable Livelihood (CRSL) Project in the Southern parts (Mongla-Bagerhat) of Bangladesh. The Project Accountant is responsible for implementing and coordinating all financial and budgetary aspects of Climate Resilient Sustainable Livelihood Project. S/he will oversee field accounting, expenditures, bookkeeping, and payroll related to the assigned project. The requirements and details for the positions are given below:

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Salary: BDT. 25,000/- per month and phone bill allowance. Upon completion of the probation period, will include gratuity and insurance benefits.
