Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Premium Determination and Policy Terms: Determine competitive and sustainable premium rates and define clear, concise policy terms and conditions based on risk analysis.
∎ Underwriting Decisions: Decide whether to accept, modify, or deny policies, balancing the insurer’s risk appetite with client needs.
∎ Data Analysis and Collaboration: Collaborating with agents, brokers, and reinsurers for high-risk cases.
∎ Compliance and Record Keeping: Ensure adherence to IDRA regulations and company policies, maintaining accurate and confidential records of assessments and decisions.
∎ Appeals Handling: Address appeals or disputes regarding underwriting decisions professionally.
∎ Customer Interaction: Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries from current and prospective clients, providing clear information about insurance products, policies, and procedures.
∎ Policy and Product Knowledge: Stay updated on insurance offerings and assist customers in understanding coverage options, benefits, and policy modifications, tailoring explanations to Bangladesh’s cultural and economic context.
∎ Problem Solving and Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer issues or complaints efficiently, identifying root causes and referring complex cases to specialists when needed.
∎ Sales and Retention: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell insurance products, assist with policy renewals or modifications, and contribute to client retention efforts.
∎ Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain organized and timely records of customer interactions, inquiries, and resolutions in the company’s system, ensuring confidentiality.
∎ Relationship Building: Foster strong client relationships through a positive attitude, effective communication, and consistent follow-up.
∎ Other Duties: Assist with training new hires or participating in company events as required. Support operational tasks during peak periods, such as processing claims inquiries or preparing policy.
∎ Claim Processing: Review and verify maturity claim, Calculate maturity benefits, including base amounts, bonuses, and any additional riders, based on policy terms and conditions, Review and verify maturity claim applications submitted by policyholders or beneficiaries to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation, Calculate maturity benefits, Process payouts efficiently.
∎ Policy and Compliance Verification: Confirm that policies have reached maturity and are eligible for claims by cross-checking policy duration, premium payment status, and contractual obligations. Ensure all processes comply with IDRA regulations, company policies, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, Identify and flag any discrepancies, such as lapsed policies or fraudulent claims, for further investigation.
∎ Customer Interaction: Communicate with policyholders or their representatives via phone, email, or in person to provide updates on claim status, request additional documents, or clarify policy details. Explain maturity claim benefits and payout procedures in a clear and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns. Maintain a positive and empathetic attitude to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction during the claim process, Document any exceptions or disputes for audit purposes and regulatory compliance.
∎ Problem Solving and Escalation: Investigate and resolve issues related to maturity claims, Escalate complex cases to the Claims Manager or legal team as needed.
∎ Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, customer service, and finance teams to ensure seamless claim processing and payout execution. Coordinate with insurance agents or field staff to gather information or assist policyholders in rural or remote areas of Bangladesh.
∎ Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline maturity claim procedures, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer experience. Stay updated on industry trends, such as digital claim processing or increasing demand for life insurance in Bangladesh, and suggest improvements accordingly.
