The Relationship Manager (SME) will be responsible for driving the growth of the bank's Small and Medium Enterprise portfolio allocated for branch. The role involves identifying high-potential businesses, conducting rigorous credit appraisals, and managing the end-to-end relationship to ensure both profitability and asset quality of branch. The ideal candidate acts as a financial consultant to SME clients while strictly adhering to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to source and acquire prospective SME clients, monitoring existing client of branch, and ensuring the achievement of periodic business targets allocated for branch (Both funded & non-funded).
- Analyze client business models, cash flows, and key financial indicators to determine repayment capacity and risk mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate SME credit proposals in accordance with the bank’s internal lending policies and Bangladesh Bank/regulatory circulars.
- Conduct thorough physical visits to business premises and proposed collateral sites to validate financial information, KYC, and due diligence.
- Manage the overall health of the branch portfolio by monitoring credit facility utilization and ensuring timely renewals.
- Conduct regular post-disbursement visits to borrowers and guarantors of branch to maintain in-depth knowledge of their business operations.
- Focus on maintaining superior asset quality by proactively identifying early warning signals to minimize Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Non-Performing Loans (NPL).
- Cross-sell CASA and other relevant banking products.
- Find out client`s fund requirements, key financial indicators, repayment capacity, risk & its mitigation, collateral security aspects, bank transaction performance, portfolio growth & turnover, business & product nature, major customers/competitors, etc.
- Ensure full compliance with internal credit policies, operational procedures, and all regulatory requirements.
Coordinate seamlessly with SME Support Team at CHO, CAD, Credit Risk Management (CRM), Trade Service Division to ensure an efficient value chain
