Educational Requirements:
∎ M.Sc/ B.Sc in Chemist
Experience Requirements:
∎ 2 to 4 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The candidate who has solid working experience in petroleum lab with ISO/ accreditation practicing will be preferable.
∎ Perform numerous tests based on ASTM/IP/UOP/ISO methods to determine physical and chemical characteristics of petroleum feeds/process /finished products for ensuring quality control & product development.
∎ Responsible for shifting duty including all routine & upcoming samples tests, report & documents.
∎ Conducting different types of water tests to implement APHA/ EPA/ ASTM method and calibrating water test related instruments when require.
∎ Supervising lab technicians and providing technical supports to run smoothly lab operation.
∎ Assist/participate in the collection of special samples from operating points.
∎ Responsible to Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
∎ Supervise and contribute in chemical reagent preparation according to standard formula & standardization.
∎ Assist lab manager in purchasing new/ consumable items for lab Operation maintaining proper chemical inventory.
∎ Responsible for recording data on data sheets/log books along with reports, maintaining quality chart.
∎ Assist lab manager to validate, operate and maintain instrumentation & equipment to minimize errors in analysis.
∎ Supports to gain ISO certificate/ accreditation and assists in the corrective/preventive actions.
∎ Maintain a neat & clean, well organized and professional-looking working area.
∎ Clear understanding of test methods and the test specifications of products while generating quality reports.
∎ Conduct physical and chemical tests for fresh/ used lub oils as require as per SOP.
∎ Ability to conduct test of LPG samples as well as LPG sampling practice as per ASTM methods.
∎ Responsible for complying with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.
∎ Liaison with lab manager for quality relevant any issues and may be need any other jobs assigned by manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Petroleum/Refinery/Chemical plant lab operation & Chemical processing training is preferable.
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Refinery, LPG, Chemical plant etc.
∎ Must have the mentality to work for the betterment of the organisation as well as its people.
∎ Attend safety and Laboratory training sessions and fulfill testing requirements.
∎ Typically specialize in analytical chemistry, petroleum chemistry and water chemistry.
∎ Basic operating knowledge on some special analytical equipment & instruments such as GC, EDXRF, Uv-Vis, karl Fischer titrator, potentiometric titrator and so on.
