Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collaborate with design and merchandising teams to understand product concepts, target market, and design requirements. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of design ideas in terms of manufacturing, costing, and materials.
∎ Work closely with suppliers to source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories. Ensure that materials meet quality standards, cost targets, and align with sustainability initiatives.
∎ Oversee the creation of initial prototypes and samples, coordinating with pattern makers and sample rooms. Conduct fit sessions and provide feedback to ensure garments meet design specifications and fit requirements.
∎ Manage product costing to meet target price points and profitability margins. Analyze cost breakdowns, negotiate with suppliers, and explore cost-saving alternatives.
∎ Establish and enforce quality assurance procedures throughout the product development process. Conduct inspections and tests to ensure garments meet quality standards and comply with regulations.
∎ Collaborate with manufacturers and production teams to ensure smooth production runs. Monitor and track production timelines to meet delivery deadlines.
∎ Collaborate with technical design and pattern teams to develop accurate fit and size specifications. Ensure that garments fit well and cater to the target customer's body shape and preferences.
∎ Stay informed about sustainable practices and encourage the use of eco-friendly materials and processes. Ensure compliance with sustainability and ethical standards in garment production.
∎ Maintain clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and management. Document all product development processes, including specifications, approvals, and changes.
∎ Provide guidance and support to product development team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
∎ Any other relevant responsibilities assigned by the Management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ 5+ years of experience in garments product development, preferably in a leadership role.
∎ In-depth knowledge of garment construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
∎ Strong understanding of garment costing and budgeting.
∎ Proficiency in fit evaluation and patternmaking.
∎ Familiarity with sustainability and compliance standards in the apparel industry.
∎ Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
∎ Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
