• Experience Requirements
• At least 8 years of merchandising experience (preferably in a reputed buying office)
• Must have proven experience handling Knit & Woven categories independently
• Extensive knowledge in product development, sourcing of fabrics & trims, costing, production tracking, small/large volume order execution
• Strong understanding of garment construction, costing, fabric properties, printing & surface applications (e.g., heat transfer, embroidery, screen-printing)
• Technical Job Requirements
• In-depth knowledge of Knit & Woven garment engineering & production processes
• Strong network of fabric, trims, print & embroidery suppliers
• Excellent understanding of production and technical processes
• Ability to prepare and manage MIS entries and merchandising operations
• Confident in handling buyers independently under pressure
• Ability to analyze market trends, cost changes, and provide actionable insights

Key Job Responsibilities

• Independently manage research and product development, tracking global fashion trends and developing customer-specific collections
• Manage end-to-end merchandising cycle: sample development, costing, approvals, T&A plans, QA files, production follow-ups, shipment booking
• Communicate effectively with buyers, factories, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Prepare detailed costing sheets and lead price negotiations with buyers and vendors
• Ensure proper sourcing of fabrics and trims from nominated suppliers
• Provide regular cost factor intelligence reports to management
• Monitor production with QA teams to ensure quality and compliance
• Conduct factory visits, evaluations, and audits; source new vendors as needed
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency without affecting garment aesthetics
• Organize production meetings and closely follow up with vendors on order progress
• Analyze customer performance reports and ensure margin clarity for all orders
• Review tech packs, identify critical points, and provide factories with accurate details
• Ensure ethical business practices and uphold company values in all activities

Job Context

The Senior Merchandiser (Knit & Woven) will be accountable for managing customer accounts from product development and sampling through to shipment and payment realization. The role requires strong coordination with factories, buyers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality delivery.
