• Experience Requirements
• At least 8 years of merchandising experience (preferably in a reputed buying office)
• Must have proven experience handling Knit & Woven categories independently
• Extensive knowledge in product development, sourcing of fabrics & trims, costing, production tracking, small/large volume order execution
• Strong understanding of garment construction, costing, fabric properties, printing & surface applications (e.g., heat transfer, embroidery, screen-printing)
• Technical Job Requirements
• In-depth knowledge of Knit & Woven garment engineering & production processes
• Strong network of fabric, trims, print & embroidery suppliers
• Excellent understanding of production and technical processes
• Ability to prepare and manage MIS entries and merchandising operations
• Confident in handling buyers independently under pressure
• Ability to analyze market trends, cost changes, and provide actionable insights

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end merchandising operations for knit and woven products

• Handle product development, costing, and order execution independently

• Communicate directly with buyers, suppliers, and factories

• Ensure on-time sampling, approvals, and bulk production

• Follow up on lab dips, trims, fabrics, and accessories

• Monitor production status, quality, and shipment timelines

• Negotiate prices with factories while maintaining required margins

• Prepare and maintain all merchandising documentation (TNA, BOM, costing sheets, etc.)

• Coordinate with QA, logistics, and commercial teams for smooth order execution

Requirements:

• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in a reputed buying house or garments industry

• Strong knowledge of both knit & woven product categories

• Excellent understanding of fabric, trims, washing, and production processes

• Proven experience handling international buyers independently

• Strong communication skills in English (written & spoken)

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Email communication)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with EU/USA/Japanese/Latin American markets

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

• Leadership ability to guide junior merchandisers
