Experience:

• 3 to 5 years

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering / Apparel Merchandising / Business Administration or a related field from a reputed university.

• 3 to 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Garments Accessories

• Age 25 to 35 years

• Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in knit garments merchandising.

• Must have experience in handling buyers independently (from development to shipment).

• Experience with European or US buyers will be an added advantage.

• Must have excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).

• Strong negotiation, follow-up, and analytical skills.

• Good knowledge of fabric, trims, printing, washing, and accessories.

• Should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple orders under pressure.

• Computer literacy in MS Office, ERP, and Email communication is essential.

Job Context:

Alema Textile Ltd. is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Merchandiser for our Knit Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the entire merchandising process — from product development to shipment — while maintaining strong relationships with buyers and ensuring timely execution of orders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full merchandising cycle for knit garments, including development, costing, production follow-up, and shipment.

• Communicate effectively with buyers, suppliers, and production teams to ensure smooth order execution.

• Handle costing, pricing, consumption calculation, and negotiation with buyers.

• Coordinate with the production, planning, and quality departments to ensure timely delivery.

• Monitor order status and update buyers regularly on production progress.

• Ensure on-time sample development, approval, and shipment.

• Maintain buyer compliance and quality standards.

• Supervise and guide junior merchandisers to achieve team goals.

• Keep track of market trends, fabric developments, and sourcing opportunities.
