Job Context:
∎ The Senior Hostel Officer will be responsible for overseeing RI building at the allocated location with professional and customer-focus manner. She will be monitoring and evaluation building performance to ensure all activities and services are met the customer needs. She will provide technical support and guidance to Hostel team for overall activities and create a safe and friendly environment in all RI buildings.
∎ Duty Station: Cox’s Bazar
∎ Report to: GBV Coordinator
∎ Department: Protection
∎ Expected Start Date: ASAP
∎ Contract length: Up to 31st December, 2022 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure and lead operational and management structure, procedure, policies and all activities of RI safe house.
∎ Set up staffing, assign responsibilities and monitor quality service delivery.
∎ Provide technical support and guidance to staffs in managing of the safe house and customer-centred service skill.
∎ Evaluation, monitoring team performance to ensure all activities and service criteria are met and appropriate as per client’s need.
∎ Direct and close supervise to hostel assistants and assist them to monitor cook and cleaners activity.
∎ Monitor the regular food supply, inventory management and financial procedures. Check inventory report with senior hostel assistant on bi-weekly basis.
∎ Develop annual procurement plan for RI safe house.
∎ Focal for hostel hotline and assist team for the referral process.
∎ Provide assistance to senior hostel assistant and other team members on emergency referral communication with RI management and referring agency.
∎ Lead communication with UNHCR on resident’s need.
∎ Monitor the resident’s individual case file, necessary documentation, entry register, online data management and client feedback mechanism.
∎ Develop annual capacity building plan for hostel staffs and provide facilitation support to the relevant trainings and orientation sessions.
∎ Ensure close collaboration with other RI departments and other services providers to support need of hostel clients
∎ Ensure monthly report and other periodical reports to line manager and Protection Program Manager of the highest quality and completed in a timely manner.
∎ Develop monthly work plans in advance and present to line manager on monthly basis.
∎ Develop feasible monthly roster and share to line manager to maintain 24/7 staff support.
∎ Ensure recognized international best practices and Relief International key policies and Code of Conduct.
∎ Any other responsibilities as requested by direct supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in team management, shelter and/or hospital management is preferable.
∎ Excellent communication skill in English and Bangla. Fluency in Rohingya language will be an asset.
∎ Basic knowledge of child protection, child development, PFA, PSS, PSEA, safeguarding, gender sensitivity, participatory approach.
∎ Previous experience facilitates the life-skill training, vocational training (sewing, basic computer skill) preferable.
∎ Basic Skills in MS Excel & MS Office.
∎ Proactive and positive attitude.
∎ Good English communications skills both verbal and written.
∎ A team builder with excellent people skills; culturally sensitive and has the ability and interest to identify and work with a multicultural team.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill.

Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays, Insurance.
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one Gross salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly Gross salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary.
