Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fashion Design Technology
∎ B.Sc/ M.Sc in Textile Engineering major in Fabric Manufacturing Technology or similar degree from renowned university.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Fabric Manufacturing, textile ( weaving ), Textile Engineering, Textile Process
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
Textile
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identifying the latest fabric trends, developments and innovations
∎ overseeing the dyeing, printing and finishing processes with the fabric mill.
∎ ensuring quality in areas such as strength, durability, colourfastness, and water and chemical resistance
∎ Ensuring that fabrics are made within the stipulated time.
∎ liaising with designers, and adapting designs to suit production methods
∎ sourcing fabrics whenever necessary
∎ undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final fabric
∎ responding to product queries, including complaints from customers.
∎ experiment with textiles to improve their look, feel, texture and durability.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Should be able to work under pressure.
∎ Involve providing fabric technical support to the design and/or production team, carrying out colour testing of fabrics and approving lab dips, sourcing fabrics and trims, Developing new fabrics based on fashion trends and working closely with the fabric mills, undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product,
∎ Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken, is essential
∎ Good communication skills.
