- Basic knowledge or skills in crop production, breeding, horticulture or other related disciplines
- Basic knowledge in statistics, experimental designs and data analysis
- Experience required: Fresh graduate or 3-4 years of crop/breeding related work experience
- Technical Competencies: Plant Breeding, Agronomy/Horticulture, Genetics and genomics, Biotechnology and Molecular breeding, Plant pathology/entomology
Responsibilities & Context:
Trial Planning and Implementation
- Involve in the planning and routine implementation of breeding trials and other breeding-related activities following standard procedures.
- Prepares and carries out routine tests and experiments under the guidance of his/her immediate supervisor.
- Assist in the data collection, data consolidation and data analysis using the prescribed tools.
- Assist in managing the breeder’s working collections ensuring seeds are kept in the designated seed allocation space and recorded in the company’s breeding database
- Explore new technology and method for improved the trials or breeding activities and report to supervisor
Communication/Reporting and Collaboration
- Submit reports to direct supervisor for review and discussion, as required
- Prepares and submits trial and progress reports to the immediate supervisor for review and discussion, as required.
- Provides regular updates to the key stakeholders of the breeding program
- Complies with EWS safety, health and environment (SHE) procedures and best practices.
Self-Development
- Enhance practical knowledge and stay abreast of developments of genetics and breeding, agronomy and pathology (disease problems) of relevant crops
- Attend and participate in technical knowledge enhancement trainings, seminars, webinars and other leadership trainings organized by local HR
Other Responsibilities
- Involve in the training of technicians and workers in breeding-related procedures and best practices.
- Involve in setting the performance targets and evaluation of the assigned technician or workers
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
