Responsibilities & Context:

Responsible for:

  •  Provide physiotherapy service at Friendship Physiotherapy Center and HHs-based.

  • Assist in including persons with disabilities in the mainstream of society according to the CBR matrix.

  • Ensuring successful implementation of the FDIDP project with the highest quality at the field level.  

  • Conduct HHs visit, family counselling, referral, awareness building, community mobilization, staff & beneficiaries capacity building. 

  • Prepare reports (weekly, monthly, half-yearly, annually, event, training etc.), including support to prepare project reports and any other report whenever required by management.

  • To provide capacity-building support and develop effective linkages between the community and health service providers.

  • Provide prescriptions for required customized assistive devices (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, etc.) of the beneficiaries through appropriate measurement and provide devices on time to the beneficiaries.

  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans for the children and persons with disabilities as needed.

  • Support the development of Individual CBR Profiles and Individual Education Plans for all beneficiaries and learners with disabilities in inclusive, veranda school, and special education settings in collaboration with project staff, CBR workers, and resource teachers.

  • Conduct pre-primary disability screening with assessment and refer to Friendship Health, DSS/JPUF, and other health service providers where necessary.

  • Implement home/environment modification activities at the community level based on assessment findings and approved designs, including installation of ramps, handrails, and other accessibility features.

  • Ensure high-quality and timely implementation of planned services through close coordination with the FDIDP team and relevant stakeholders.

  • Refer beneficiaries to appropriate internal and external services, including medical, rehabilitation, and social support services.

  • Provide hands-on training to caregivers on continuing rehabilitation and therapeutic exercises at home and the proper use of assistive devices.

  • Support the development of key reports, including case studies, lessons learned, and patient progress reports.

  • Maintain and oversee the operation of the Friendship Physiotherapy Center and manage support staff activities for effective service delivery.

  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by Head Office or senior management.

Activities:

  • Provide technical, strategic and administrative support and supervision of different-level staff (Technical Supervisor, CBR workers, Resource teachers etc.) in the projects at district, upazila and community level.  

  • Develop the Individual monthly plan and quarterly implementation plan for self and selected beneficiaries with consultation with the project team.

  • Develop and follow-up beneficiaries’ ADL plan at HHs based.

  • Provide prescriptions for required customized assistive devices (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, etc.) of the beneficiaries through appropriate measurement and provide devices on time to the beneficiaries.

Patient care issues:

  • Need to show empathy to the patient

  • Need to explain all the procedures and treatments to the patient.

  • Adhere to Friendship’s Safeguarding Policy for children and adults at risk, ensuring the protection, safety, and well-being of all project participants.

  • Promote a safe and secure environment for all beneficiaries and stakeholders of the project.

Skill and Competencies:

  •  Excellent facilitation skills.

  • Good written & spoken communication in English and Bengali.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with project stakeholders and camp/workshop/event management.

  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to prepare and submit detailed reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or BSc in Physiotherapy from a reputed and government-approved institution.
