Performance Expectations:
Deliver consistent high-quality refraction services across field camps
Adapt the screening approach to rural school settings and engage teachers as facilitators
Minimize errors in prescription by cross-verifying with the standard protocol
Handle fragile optical equipment with care
Document all client data accurately for program review
Coordinate with local opticians and lens providers to ensure timely delivery
Responsible for:
Conducting vision screening of primary school students
Using vision charts (Snellen/E-Chart) and handheld autorefractors as appropriate
Prescribing spectacles for refractive error correction based on test results
Referring complex cases (e.g., amblyopia, squint, cataract) to the base hospital
Supervision and Coordination:
Supervise Community Health Volunteers/Field Coordinators during school camps
Report screening data weekly to the Eye Health Coordinator
Coordinate logistics and screening calendar with academic authorities
Daily screenings during mobile eye camps as per the school calendar
Maintain child-friendly, respectful communication
Record findings, prescriptions, referrals, and lens orders on project MIS
Participate in feedback sessions and technical refreshers

Skill and Competencies:
Educational Requirements:
Diploma in Refraction & Dispensing, Optometry
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in school-based or community eye screening projects. Preference for prior NGO or rural outreach experience.
Additional Requirements:
Familiarity with the Bangladesh National Eye Care Program guidelines
Understanding of pediatric eye care practices
Proficiency in vision screening tools
Willingness to travel to remote riverine or char areas
