Job Context:
∎ This is medical professional responsible for using imaging machines and tools to create a map of a patient`s internal tissues and organ systems to assess their overall health. Their duties include explaining procedures to patients, calibrating imaging equipment and preparing results.

∎ Duty Station: Ukhiya Specialized Hospital, Ukhiya, Bangladesh
∎ Report To: Radiologist
∎ Expected Start Date: TBA
∎ Contract length: Five and half Months.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the Radiologist, the Radiographer will be responsible for-
∎ Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging.
∎ Explain to patients about the purpose of the imaging procedure requested by physician and answer questions.
∎ Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety
∎ Correctly and safely position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified position for most accurate images.
∎ Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
∎ Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding.
∎ Keep good patient records.
∎ Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
∎ Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
∎ In charge of keeping patients and medical staff safe by appropriately preparing an exam room and outfitting all parties with the necessary protective equipment.
∎ Health & Safety
∎ Comply with established health and safety policies with regard to handling of instruments, storage of drugs and disposal of sharps and other potentially dangerous equipment and substances. Comply with current NZ legislation.
∎ IPC Management and others
∎ Provide training on IPC, donning and doffing of PPE items.
∎ Monitor triage, early recognition and source control.
∎ Supervise instrument processing.
∎ Monitor waste management in the hospital.
∎ Contribute in ensuring the safeguarding in the organization.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ 2 years of working experience in the same position.
∎ Good communication skills to compassionately and accurately explain to the patient what they are about to experience.
∎ They must also be able to clearly communicate test results to doctors and staff.
∎ Be able to calibrate and maintain radiology equipment.
∎ Radiographer needs technical knowledge. Each machine model is different, so he/she will have to learn and relearn technology as it changes.
∎ Physical strength -To help patients.
∎ Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively in written and spoken English. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision & excellent interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to work effectively under pressure in hardship situations.
∎ Flexibility.

∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh

∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one Gross salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly Gross salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary
