Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Social and Economic Enhancement Program (SEEP) is a Child Rights Based Non-Government Organization established in 1986. SEEP works for the empowerment and participation of disadvantaged and victim children in Bangladesh (both boys and girls, including children with different abilities), and their parents and community, so that they can protect and promote child rights.
∎ SEEP is going to implement "Safe Back to School Community based Integrated Case Management Project" under the supervision of Save the Children International. This project will be implemented at Mirpur and Dhamsona Union in Dhaka District. The aim of the Community based integrated case management model is to encourage community members including child protection committees, school management committees, parent teacher associations and community health workers, to promote children`s attendance at school and work together to holistically address barriers to education.
∎ Duration: Duration of the contract will be up to 30th June, 2022.
∎ Position Title: Psychosocial Counsellor under Safe Back to School Community level Integrated Case Management (SB2S CCM) Project
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Actively promotes the availability of counselling services.
∎ Conducts individual and group counselling for children, young people and their family members
∎ Work with the team for assessing need of psychosocial service (PSS) in the community
∎ Develop capacity of front line staff on Psychological First Aid (PFA)
∎ Provide PFA to children at first contact
∎ Coordinate with case workers and other staff to ensure PFA is provided to all children and making sure proper documentation is in place
∎ Effective coordination with Case Management Coordinator (CMC) & Case Supervisor (CS) to develop and proper implementation of care plans for children
∎ Identify children and parents who needs counseling or specialized mental health support
∎ Provide distance or face to face Counseling to individual children and parents
∎ Proper documentation of counseling services and coordinate with the CMC & CS to ensure case files are containing proper counseling data
∎ Documents PSS activities, coordination meetings and other activities related to the project;
∎ Take appropriate measures to refer most critical mental health cases to experts
∎ Assist CMC & Project Manager to produce quality periodic reports
∎ Keeps systematic records of work and maintains confidentiality
∎ Develops work plans and reports of activities;
∎ Provides weekly, monthly and periodic counselling reports to the Project Manager.
∎ Perform any other duties as and when required
Additional Requirements:
∎ Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively, including the ability to advocate for and explain difficult psychosocial issues
∎ Advanced knowledge of written English is required Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office package.
∎ Demonstrated competency to work independently with minimum supervision.
∎ Able to inspire and show empathy to beneficiaries
∎ Resilient, flexible and gender sensitive
∎ Ability and willingness to travel to the field.
∎ Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
∎ Excellent communication and listening skills
