Responsibilities & Context: Community Development Centre (CODEC) is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985. CODEC has been growing and evolving into efficient and effective non-governmental development organization in the coastal area of Bangladesh. From the beginning of its development intervention, CODEC started its activities only with the fisherfolk communities but over the period CODEC now extended its working area with other disadvantaged coastal communities along with the fisherfolk community.
Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the following positions from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for “Strengthening the protective environment for children, adolescents and youth in the refugee camps and host communities in Cox's Bazar Project (CODEC-UNICEF CP Project)" funded by UNICEF Bangladesh located at Ukhiya and Teknaf.
Under the supervision of MPC Coordinator, the purpose of the PSS Facilitator is to ensure effective implementation of project intervention related to project with all concern personnel among CODEC & UNICEF for the purpose of CODEC UNICEF Project implementation under Cox’s Bazar Region.
Key Areas of Performance/ Responsibility/Accountability:
- Information collection and file up of vulnerable children for individual children profile update.
- Corner based different activities accomplishment at MPC.
- Children with special needs, abused children, children victims of various violence, fearful children, children who prefer to be quit or alone, Children who want to play or mingle with others should be identified.
- To identify the above children he (psycho-social support Facilitator) will take help of third source including child friendly center, home visit or social worker help.
- If a child with the above characteristics comes to the MPC, he will bring them back to normal by providing the necessary Psycho-social support.
- If it is not possible to bring them back to normal by providing psycho-social support or if any other services are required them the psycho-social consultant will discuss with them and take necessary steps including referral to get the necessary services.
- But, if the child with the above characteristics does not come to the MPC, then go directly to the home of the child and provide psychosocial support.
- He/She shall ensure regular communication with the children’s parents, guardians, CBCPC members, local public representative, block leaders or majhi and representatives of other service provider on a regular basis.
- As directed by MPC Manager he/she will provide psychosocial and recreational support to children arriving at MPC in need and provide psychosocial support to at risk adolescent including club visit.
- Conduct pre-test and post-test and also conducting the structure PSS session at MPC.
- A register will be maintain individually and keep proper records of children receiving psychosocial support.
- Prepare weekly statistical reports and prepared successful case stories.
- Preserve attendance card and attendance register for MPC user children.
- Intensive communication with children’s family, CBCPC, UCWB (Upazilla child welfare Board), USW and other social actors related to child protection.
- Assist in availing amenities provided by local GoB, NGO and other service providers.
- Organize and arrange MPC based simulative and recreational activities (IPT, Peer Group Session, Day observation, Parents Meeting and so on).
- Assist MPC Coordinator in different programme arrangement and execution and data collection for different reports and papers.
