Job Context:
∎ The Project Officer/Adolescent Girls Officer is responsible to support smooth implementation of the Improving menstrual health management for the adolescent girls and women in Cox’s Bazar Project activities by proper planning, and monitoring of the activities in a participatory way maintaining project cycle; staff development and management; establishing and maintaining networking and coordination. She will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Program Manager, IMHM project of Mukti Cox’s Bazar.
∎ This is a project based position and place of posting at Adolescents and Youth Center, Bashan Char, Hatia, Noakhali.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage the field-based team and oversee timely implementation of activities
∎ Ensuring the implementation of emergency preparedness and response measures in view of monsoon and cyclone seasons, such as- staff and volunteer training on emergency preparedness, updating the regular Contingency Plan.
∎ Ensure representation of IMHM program at field level, and join different sector and coordination meeting, and share the information timely with technical service providing organization of IMHM project
∎ Guide the A&Y center staff in developing their work plan, project level activity and implementation strategy with proper coordination.
∎ Aggregate lessons learnt and missed opportunities from field level implementation and incorporate those into recasting program planning.
∎ Generate idea for developing session and Communication materials
∎ Conducting a comprehensive assessment on well-being and safety concerns for adolescent’s strengths-based on mechanisms to adapt and contextualize the Girl Shine and Champion of Change curriculum.
∎ Other adaptation and contextualization process of the GS and CoC curricula.
∎ Facilitation and co facilitation of the GS and CoC session at youth center (YC).
∎ Generating ongoing learning, through girl-friendly monitoring and evaluation approaches, regarding the change achieved by girls, boys and caregivers through the GS and CoC activities.
∎ Work closely with the Center Manager and Case Worker at each YC to build and strengthen the safe and confidential internal referrals between the girl’s program and the SRH services offered; and support the team to provide age appropriate SRH sessions to adolescent girls visiting the A&YC.
∎ Provide technical support to the A&YC and mentors team to ensure ongoing engagement of adolescent girls & boys for inclusion in the Girls Shine and Champion of Change activities, as well as to improve access to the other services offered in the A&YC (such as GBV case management, skills development, recreation, and SRH services).
∎ Take the lead on supply chain, finance, and logistics tasks in relation to the operations of the adolescents and youth center manager including identifying and responding to procurement needs.
∎ Consult and work with adolescents in the Adolescents Youth Center (A&YC) to identify their needs, interests, and priorities, and what is important to them, and where possible, adapt activities according to these to ensure activities offered are culturally appropriate and meet the needs of them.
∎ Adhere to and dedicatedly promote the women’s, girls, and survivor support by center support approach, and the GBV guideline principle.
∎ Select adolescent girls and caregivers to execute girl shine curriculum
∎ Support and supervise youth mentors and other team members to conduct FGDs, sessions, meetings with adolescents and caregivers.
∎ Technical Quality and Support:
∎ Support the team to ensure Girl Shine programming has a women, girl and survivors centered and feminist approach and that staff and volunteers are supported to build and strengthen their practice in this area.
∎ Responsible for capacity building of center manager and case worker for session facilitations on the implementation of Girl Shine Champion of Change activities through on the job mentoring and training.
∎ Through observation and regular evaluations, oversee and ensure the quality of activities implemented by the facilitators and share relevant information during staff meetings and supervision sessions with A&YC manager and case worker, working with them to adjust and strengthen programming.
∎ Work closely with the A&YC teams to ensure GBV responses are reflective of the needs of girls in particular early marriage and sexual violence.
∎ Where required by the project team, provide technical support to the case workers in areas that might include caring for child survivors and case management for adolescents.
∎ Ensure regular communication and close collaboration with the A&YC Manager
∎ Provide training to youth mentors on life skill curriculum
∎ Assist in the planning and implementation of training activities for adolescent girls participating in A&YC.
∎ Assist in the planning and implementation of activities aimed at community leaders and parents (or guardians/gatekeepers) of the adolescent girls accessing the A&YC.
∎ Staff Development and Management
∎ Building the capacity of the staffs through regular trainings, coaching and on-the-job mentorship (this may include facilitation skills, leadership, team building etc.)
∎ Supervise the staff and assist them for improving performance and their career development.
∎ Undertake staff development training as part of the related project activities and undertake orientation, discussion sessions etc.
∎ Ensure that the staff are aware of all the policies and follow those in dealing with the colleagues and project participants.
∎ Ensure that an enabling environment is prevailing at the workplace and staffs are working well enjoying equal opportunities irrespective of male and female
∎ Liaison/coordination/partnership with all concerns.
∎ Establishing, strengthening, and monitoring an effective and transparent coordination system within the camps where Mukti Cox’s Bazar IMHM program operates, including coordination of multi-sectoral service provision
∎ Liaison with other partner of IMHM program and plan the work and field implementation in a coordinated way
∎ Liaison with other service providers and partners at the Camp, District and Upazila level, to ensure that their activities of information, humanitarian assistance and services are also channeled through the A&YC to the extent possible.
∎ Ensure referral and engagement of other service providers.
∎ Documentation and Preparation of different project reports
∎ Submitting timely programmatic reports and stories.
∎ Make an archive of project documents and events photographs in a systematic way.
∎ Keep all related project information in a way so that any information can be provided as per need of the management.
∎ Monitoring and Reporting:
∎ Responsible for using Girl Shine girl-friendly data collection methods to collect data and preparing reports on project activities
∎ Identify key trends emerging in the field related to adolescents and communicate these regularly to the A&YC Manager to address key issues emerging and respond accordingly.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years

∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Local language (Chittagonian/Rohingya language preferred)
∎ Efficient problem-solving crisis intervention and case management skills.
∎ Prior experience working with administrators and government officials
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of session/training issues including methodologies, community empowerment and development.
∎ Prior experience working in rural areas, ability to travel frequently and work with children and others in disadvantaged groups.
∎ Enjoy working with the community and helping people.
∎ Open attitude, capable to work under high pressure and build a good teamwork high commitment and a trustworthy person
∎ Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
