Job Context:
∎ VOICE is a right based research and advocacy organization working mainly on the issues of human rights-right to information and communication justice, privacy rights and data protection, freedom of expression, digital rights as well as around the issues of aid and development effectiveness, economic justice, food sovereignty, climate change, countering hate speech & misinformation, public health programme etc, both in Bangladesh and on a global scale for 20 years.
∎ To implement a project on protecting civic space and building CSO alliance VOICE is seeking applications for Project Officer from qualified candidates in immediate basis. This is a full-time position for six months intending to start from First week of August 2021.
∎ KEY POSITION AIMS
∎ The Project Officer is responsible for overall implementation of the Civic Space Protection project in order to achieve the program outcomes and goal as per approved program design.
∎ This position will ensure appropriate planning of listed project activities and implementation including research, alliance building, advocacy.
∎ Ensure all media communications through press releases, social media posting etc, with effective dissemination of the programs including research outcomes and develop campaign strategy for the project.
∎ Provide technical and security support to team members on a day-to-day basis
∎ Implement technical solutions to improve team security, coordination, operations, and program implementation
Job Responsibilities:
∎ PROJECT MANAGEMENT, STRATEGIC PLAN AND IMPLEMENTATION
∎ Lead overall implementation of the project activities, event and actions-based planning and strategy.
∎ Develop and implement strategies to increase the engagement of leading media NGOs and CSOs for supporting the goals and objectives of this project.
∎ Build and cultivate proactive and strong relationships with NGOs, CSOs, and journalists for effective communications of issues related to this initiative.
∎ Conduct survey, prepare draft reports, features, articles, brochures, press release social media content and other communications materials as needed.
∎ Coordinate collaborative design and consultation processes with partners
∎ Conduct research and develop campaign and media and communications strategy and engagement of the stakeholders.
∎ Write features, articles, op-ed both in English and Bangla on regular basis and publish them in the media.
∎ Prepare project documentations and project reports
∎ Act as the active member and collaborate with VOICE team to efficiently and creatively craft and implement activities for this initiative.
∎ Any other activity assigned by the Management/authority as and when necessary for successful implementation of the project.
∎ NETWORKING AND PARTNERSHIP BUILDING
∎ Build communications with important stakeholders including journalists, NGOs, CSOs, Member of Parliament, government officials etc.
∎ Work in conjunction with social media experts for developing & executing effective website and social media campaigns.
∎ Promote relevant materials and publications to civil society
∎ TRAININGS AND EVENT MANAGEMENT
∎ Coordinate and plan a variety of consultations, trainings, and meetings
∎ Design training agendas
∎ Prepare and compile relevant training and educational resources
∎ Actively learn from the field, including documenting and sharing relevant knowledge
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must have 5 years experience on partnership & project management, project planning & implementation, advocacy, action research, communication & networking and supervision, monitoring & evaluation of implementing programs in any reputed NGOs
∎ Must have good knowledge on Bangladesh's socio-economic and socio-political condition and Human Rights issues including freedom of expression and freedom of assembly.
∎ Must be fluent in English and have excellent report writing capacity both in Bangla & English
∎ Excellent skills on basic computer applications including MS office package and social media
∎ Good organizational, leadership and team playing skills; self esteemed, open minded, culturally oriented, disciplined and proactive
∎ Knowledge on digital content development will be added as an advantage
∎ Motivated, self-organised and active in taking initiative
∎ Familiarity working in online workplaces with decentralised teams
∎ Ability to coordinate a team, work under pressure, and deliver on deadlines
∎ Age shouldn't be more than 35 years
Salary: Tk. 40000 (Monthly)
