Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in documentary production, strategic communication, or audiovisual content development.
Demonstrated experience working with NGOs, INGOs, development partners, media organizations, and journalists.
Proven expertise in producing documentaries, investigative stories, advocacy films, or human rights-related audiovisual content.
Strong understanding of media ethics, freedom of expression, journalist safety, and human rights issues will be considered an advantage.

VOICE invites applications from experienced communication agencies or individual consultants to produce a high-quality documentary on the safety of journalists in Bangladesh under the project Supporting Media During Transition Period in Bangladesh.
The documentary aims to document the current state of journalist safety by highlighting the lived experiences, testimonies, and resilience of journalists who have faced attacks, intimidation, legal harassment, and other safety violations while carrying out their professional responsibilities. Through compelling storytelling, the documentary will illustrate the human impact of these violations on journalists, their families, and the broader media landscape, while showcasing existing protection and support mechanisms. It will further seek to raise public awareness on the importance of press freedom, promote accountability for crimes against journalists, and reinforce the need for collective action to ensure a safer and more enabling environment for independent journalism in Bangladesh.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant/agency will be responsible for the complete production of the documentary, including:
Concept Development: Develop a creative and compelling documentary concept aligned with the project’s objectives and key messages on journalist safety and freedom of expression.
Script Writing: Prepare a detailed documentary script incorporating project objectives, verified information, interviews, and storytelling elements for approval.
Storyboard Development: Design a visual storyboard outlining scenes, interview sequences, graphics, and transitions to guide the production process.
Coordination with Participants: Communicate and coordinate with VOICE, interviewees, journalists, experts, and other relevant stakeholders to schedule filming and ensure smooth implementation.
Video Production and Shooting: Conduct professional filming at designated locations using high-quality audio, video, and lighting equipment to capture interviews, B-roll, and supporting footage.
Post-production: Complete professional editing, colour correction, sound mixing, motion graphics, and overall production to deliver a broadcast-quality documentary.
Music and Sound Design: Source or compose appropriate royalty-free/licensed background music and sound effects that enhance the documentary's narrative.
Subtitling: Produce accurate English subtitles (and Bangla subtitles, if required) to ensure accessibility for wider audiences.
Credits and Branding: Incorporate project branding, acknowledgements, opening and closing credits, logos, and other required visual identity elements in accordance with VOICE's branding guidelines.
Submission of Raw Footage: Provide all original/raw video footage, audio files, project files, photographs (if applicable), and the final documentary in high-resolution formats upon completion.
