Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant working experience;

Sound knowledge of agriculture/climate change/advocacy project implementation and management;
Some experience in voluntary social work or working with voluntary organizations;
Experience in facilitating training, workshops, and other forms of capacity-building activities;
Strong commitment to the rights of the most marginal communities, the conservation of river ecosystems, the values of accountability, inclusiveness, and empowerment, and also towards voluntarism and civil rights in particular;
Respect towards voluntarism and civil society activism;
Capacity to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders including from government, private sector, civil society, and grassroots communities;

Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator - Emergency & Humanitarian Responses, the Project Officer under the Transboundary Rivers of South Asia (TROSA-2): Rivers, Rights and Resilience Project will be responsible for implementing field-level activities, and community consultation, stakeholder engagement, and contact between RDRS and the program participants. S/he will coordinate and conduct orientation, meetings, and workshops with community people, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Coordinate and provide support to the Project Management, village groups of fishers, farmers, and fish cultivators, RDRS Union federation, etc.,
The position is based in either Kurigram Sadar or Rowmari with frequent field visits to working areas. S/he will assist the Project Coordinator in planning, resource mobilization, advocacy, and networking.
The major responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Provide technical support to the project team; capacity building of Community Volunteers in climate resilient agriculture, livelihood diversification, early warning system, bio-diversity conversation, civil society engagement, and other relevant areas;
Mobilize Local Service Providers (LSPs) in climate-smart agriculture, financial inclusion, and eco-system restoration;
Coordinate and collaborate with local government, relevant upazila and district-level Government departments, private sectors, NGOs, civil societies and relevant partners;
Provide day-to-day operational support to the Community Volunteers including performance management, capacity building, etc.;
Ensure timely execution of Detailed Implementation Plan by ensuring quality and setting strategies and guidelines;
Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual progress reports, success stories, and other reports as per the requirement of the project;
Prepare a yearly plan of operation with a detailed budget under the TROSA-2 project;
Engage key stakeholders of water governance (government, private sector, civil society, community, youth, and women leaders) from grassroots to national level;
Stakeholder mapping, intelligence, and strategic influencing;
Arranging workshops, campaigns, and social media activities for stakeholder engagement;
Work closely with stakeholders to organize campaigns on issues related to the inclusion of rights of the marginalized in water governance with a focus on access and control over common pool water resources and safety from river-related disasters;
Keeping track of stakeholder feedback and communicating with managers;
Strategic planning and consultations for campaigns;
Research, reporting, and documentation of water governance outcomes;
Organization of data and information related to water governance;
Human interest stories collection and dissemination;
Support Project Coordinator to collaborate and coordinate with country, basin, and regional partners.
