Job Context:
∎ RDRS is a leading national development organisation in Bangladesh working for the poor and underprivileged communities across the country with focus on north-west Bangladesh. Established in 1972 as the field programme of Lutheran World Federation, Geneva, RDRS became a national development organisation in 1997 under the Trust Act. RDRS provides development services to over 3 million households in 32 districts through its four broad programmes - civil empowerment, quality of life, food security & environment, and economic empowerment & opportunity.
∎ Recently, RDRS Bangladesh is inviting applications to fill up the position of Project Officer under Delivery of bio-fortified zinc rice in Bangladesh under HarvestPlus Project. The positions based in Dinajpur.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Planning, implementation and monitoring of activities under HarvestPlus project;
∎ Organize and facilitate training to farmers who will cultivate zinc enriched rice;
∎ Facilitate and foster partnership with Federation/Groups/Farmers forum/FFS monitoring the training and demonstrations;
∎ Organize awareness session, nutrition campaign, seed marketing of zinc rice , aggregation of zinc rice grain and its milling with the involvement of local millers and coordinate different issue-based workshop, seminar for increasing influence on and access to right of poor people for sustainable livelihood;
∎ Data collection of demonstration plots and report preparation on monthly/quarterly/ half-yearly/yearly.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 02 years experience in rice field and its value chain development;
∎ Excellent skill in generating reports;
∎ Liaison capacity with different stakeholders;
∎ Excellent computer skill (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
∎ Good interpersonal communication skill and command over English and Bangla both spoken and written.
Salary: Tk. 20000 (Monthly)
