Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the Child Protection (CP) Project with Rohingya and Host communities under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox’s Bazar with the support of Save the Children International (SCI) and UNHCR which is assumed to be commenced from October, 2020.
∎ The duration of the project is initially 3 Months (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension for the next year). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Gilatoli (Teknaf) with substantial field activities at different camps and host community at Teknaf and Ukhia. The job may be regularized after completion of 6 months of services under FIVDB’s pay-scale, rules and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Project Officer ¬has the responsibility of supervising and supporting the implementation of child friendly spaces and community based child protection in a specific project area as part of the Emergency Rohingya Response. This includes the management of FO, CFS facilitators, community mobilisers, cleaners and guards. He or she will be responsible for leading on children’s clubs, CFS activities and positive parenting sessions and meetings, and for ensuring that child friendly space activities are delivered through a PSS approach, under the supervision of the Program Officer. S/she will be supervising to the Field Officers working with her/his team.
∎ Key Area 1: Child protection team management and program implementation
∎ - Directly line manage CFS teams, FOs, Community Mobilizers, Cleaners and Guards responsible for child friendly spaces, children’s clubs, parents sessions and awareness raising, ensuring that they achieve their objectives and intended program results.
∎ - Conduct performance reviews for staff; support them to set performance objectives and monitor progress.
∎ - Plan, monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring timely and quality project delivery, flagging any issues to the Child Protection Project Manager.
∎ - Provide coaching, mentoring and capacity building support to child protection volunteers.
∎ - Represent FIVDB in the community and to community leaders and actors, collaborating with other sectors to ensure an integrated approach.
∎ - Ensure all child protection concerns identified are communicated in timely manner for response to the PO - Case Management.
∎ - Lead weekly team meetings in each CFS and document, disseminate and monitor action points.
∎ - Participate in relevant field level coordination meetings.
∎ - Ensure that all program data is properly and regularly collected and input in the CFS databases and other reporting tools.
∎ - Ensure adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures.
∎ Key Area 2: Child friendly space management
∎ - Management the child friendly spaces in a specific area or location, designed to provide psychosocial support and recreational activities to Rohingya children.
∎ - Ensure that CFSs are in line with minimum standards, and have daily and weekly schedules in place, providing activities designed to meet child protection and psychosocial objectives.
∎ - Ensure that all children are able to participate equally in activities, and that activities meet the needs of boys, girls, children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Support animators to promote inclusivity in the CFS.
∎ - Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere in the Child Friendly Space
∎ - Ensure that health and safety regulations are understood and followed and that health and safety incidents are logged.
∎ - Ensure that all children participating in media activities and/or focus groups have provided informed consent, along with parents and caregivers.
∎ - Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the Child Friendly Spaces.
∎ Key Area 3: Community based child protection
∎ - Responsible for ensuring sustainable child protection through community engagement and structures.
∎ - Lead in the establishment and running of Community Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) together with Community Mobilizers, ensuring monthly meetings are taking place and minutes are documented.
∎ - Manage and deliver trainings for CBCPCs .
∎ - Oversee awareness raising activities, including the development of key messages, session plans and monitoring activities.
∎ - Implement FIVDB’s Positive Discipline in Emergencies program.
∎ - Ensure the effective running of child clubs and adolescent groups.
∎ Key Area 4: Reporting
∎ - Provide timely and quality inputs to meet reporting requirements and timeline.
∎ - Support in preparing quality and timely reports for donors and Senior Management with relevant materials.
∎ - Ensure good practices are captured, documented and disseminated at project level and thematic program level.
∎ Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations in Bangladesh, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor;

∎ Has to be willing to take challenge of working in a participatory approach for Rohingya Community/ Host Community
∎ Good communication, Facilitation and motivational skill.
∎ Understanding of local cultural language
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to village level
∎ Ability to work under pressure.
∎ Fully conversant with MS-word, Excel, Power point and internet

Salary:
∎ Tk. 44672 (Monthly)
∎ TK. Up to 44,672.00 (Monthly) (fixed; taxes payable to be deducted)
