Responsible for:
Overall supervision of a primary healthcare facility/Health Post and its staff.
Maintenance of coordination with local Gov and INGO/NGO stakeholders.
Preparation of reports, requisitions, and any other documents as per the programme team’s requirements
Provide primary health care services to children following the standard protocols;
Provide technical support to Medical assistants/ nurse/ midwives, and other staff as needed;
Conduct necessary in-house training or refresher sessions for nurses, counsellors and allied health care workers
Daily reporting on service coverage and drug dispensing;
Ensure overall Health & Safety issues within the centre;
Activities:
Management of smooth service provision at facility, supervision of staff so that they adhere to proper IPC and patient compliance protocols, attending monthly meetings at CiC office, providing support to other Friendship facilities in terms of patient referral and other activities etc.
Attend donor visits as per the instructions of the supervisor, and ensure facility readiness before any external and internal visits.
Routine monitoring of all the service points of the facilities, and supervise service provision as per SOP. Ensure daily checklists are filled out by the service providers correctly.
Admit and evaluate new patients and decide on appropriate action (e.g. treatment and discharge, or admission into clinical units;
Conduct thorough physical examination and gather detailed patient history;
Request and administer tests, if required (e.g. blood test, x-ray);
Interpret test results; Diagnose condition and prescribe treatment;
Manage complicated cases;
Regular follow-up of admitted patients daily to review response to treatment;
Document all patient interactions using computers.
Review complicated cases with senior doctors during their daily morning and evening rounds;
Take actions on recommendations made by senior management;
Coordinate patient-care activities with nurses and other hospital staff;
Supervise and guide other members in the team for day-to-day tasks;
Support clinical research work in the hospital in order to ensure proper clinical management.
Train other staff in basic rules and procedures followed at Friendship Hospital;
Coach junior staff on the job on an ongoing basis;
Prepare and present reports on cases, incidents, initiatives etc., during team meetings and department meetings in order to share experience(s) and learning with team members;
Manage staff conflict and complaints received from beneficiaries without any biasness.
Ensure adherence to PSEAH and Safeguarding protocols at facility, and escalate PSEAH and safeguarding related issues to senior management immediately;
Any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor and senior management.
Skill and Competencies:
Education and relevant experience:
MBBS degree with valid BMDC registration.
Any post-graduation qualification in Surgery/Emergency medicine/, Pediatrics/Internal Medicine/Infectious Disease or other disciplines will be an added advantage.
Two (2) years of experience in a facility in charge of any private or NGO clinic/ hospital is preferable.
Experience in service delivery is desirable.
Willingness to work in a humanitarian response.
Willingness to work in remote and hard-to-reach areas with limited resource settings.
